Can you play wii games with it on the wii u?

Yes, that is why I bought it as WiiU doesn't come with one.

It said that this is a new model. is it the new model any better than old remote?

If this has some type of motion sensor built-in, it's bogus. I scored better with my old controller then this one. I play Just Dance often. The only reason why I bought this one was for the much touted "motion plus", which I thought would be an improvement from the old controller.
