I would give this ten stars if I could! I used a different brand volumizer for many years, and when it was discontinued I tried three different ones. They all left a gummy residue in my hair after styling, and the little bit of volume that they gave was always gone by the second day. Paul Mitchell's Extra Body Thicken Up definitely lives up to its name! I've used it twice now, and am absolutely thrilled to finally find one styling product that checks all the boxes: makes my baby-fine hair thick, shiny, super manageable, and easier to dry & style. And my gorgeous hair lasts ALL WEEK without having to reapply this stuff. I've NEVER found a volumizer that lasts more than a few days. Paul Mitchell: please don't ever stop making this product.

This thickener works miracles! Before I started using it, my hair was flat and oily before the end of the day. Now, my hair has body and looks great even the next day.

My hair: medium thick (used to be crazy thick), long (down to middle of back), mix of waves and curls. Not dyed, some grays, rarely use products, never use heat tools (got 'em but haven't used them in years). In short: It adds a light boost of volume and fluffiness. Doesnt feel crunchy or sticky, but I can feel a little something. I imagine more volume could be made with extra products and tools. But for me, just adding some onto damp or dry hair allows it to look boosted; a little ore filled out. Reason for my wanting to try this: what used to be crazy thick hair is now just regular thickness. Since it is long, sometimes the ends look scraggily. Trims don't change this, I think it has more to do with its propensity to curl and wave. And then with thinning, the new growth doesn't quite catch up with long hair. Some days my hair looks full through to the ends, sometimes scraggly. This helps to make it look full through to the ends. I can wear my hair down, and it looks nice. Little goes long way. I dont use it daily, but it is nice to know I have something for when I am wanting to look presentable. I may give a couple of other products in this line a try. I had learned of this product through a friend that has thinning hair, and also wanted to have more body. She loves it and has been recommending it. So far I like it. I will update if I experience anything else, or if I find that I really love it.

If you were looking for a replacement for Toppik Hair Fattner that has been discontinued look no further. I have been searching for a hard fattner aince toppik discontinued and dis not come out with a replacement. I have thin hair and want it to look fuller. This is it. Put it on wet hair and blow dry. So excited to Fuller hair again. So happy with this product. My search is now over. Hope this helps.

Works very well, but you used to get 200 mL of product for 21$ and now you get 150mL for 23$. State of the world I guess but it is infuriating to see.

I am so disappointed, I was so hoping this product would work for my fine dead-straight short hair but it doesn't. I have a full head of 'fine' hair but it's not thining. I have the type of hair that looks best cut into shorter styles (above ears) otherwise it looks thin and straggly when grown longer. I tried the product in varying amounts and in different conditions (damp hair, dry hair) and it just doesn't provide my hair volume. I don't even notice any extra shine that the product claims. Such a pity.

Paul Mitchell extra body thickener is a must to have if you have fine hair it helps hold the style and provide body and volume

Having used this product for a number of years I really prefer it over moose for my very fine short hair. It gives me a thickness that is not there now, as I’m in my 70’s without any stickiness. Really pleased with delivery as it came earlier than expected. Thank you.
