This book ought to be in the library of every military historian and military enthusiast! Review: Very enjoyable military survey book - This book has some very well written text on military history, selectively chosen to represent distinct historically significant battles and time periods. The illustrations/photos are very interesting and well presented in the text. I have just started reading it and am pleased with buying this book. It seems to have a much stronger representation of earlier periods of history, the bronze age through World War II---so if you are hoping for more modern military history, seek another book. It is not a comprehensive history (it selects certain battles and time periods), but they are well selected across a large period of history and well worth the price of the text (which was also pleasantly discounted on desertcart). Would be a nice gift for a younger or adult fan of history, especially military history. Enjoy.
