UNbrush Original

I have really thick dark hair that likes to go from wavy to curly depending on the weather. But I also suffer from severe depression and it leads to not taking care of my basics needs from not eating to not even brushing my hair for weeks. I usually put it up in a bun to hide how bad it is, even though I know I'm just avoiding the inevitable. I would just get so scared to even try brushing it out because I know it'll be painful and I've had a sensitive scalp since I was young. I barely get my haircut or let the hairstylist brush my hair, i do it myself because of how painful it can be for me. I had my doubts about this product because I thought it was just all hype. But I had an event coming up that I couldn't miss and I was desperate to brush out my matted hair. I lost my old trusty hairbrush when I traveled during the holidays and went ahead to buy three different detangler brushes to try, but this one was the best! The other two were the BESTOOL Detangling Brush & the Ninabella Organic Detangling Hair Brush. The Bestool worked well, but not as much as this brush. And I'm not satisfied with how unsturdy the Ninabella was Its lightweight and on the smaller than i expected since i had the size of a paddle brush in mind; it made me more doubtful of its usefulness more because I have too much hair. But it caused me very little pain (mats will always cause some pain) and made what is usually a multiday process to less than 10 minutes. I was brought to tears of how well it worked. It didn't snag, the bristles were still in place, and it was really easy to remove loose hairs. I also liked that the bristles were long enough to stimulate the scalp when brushing, I could barely feel the bristles of the Bestool, which maybe some other people prefer that. Its also really sturdy unlike the Ninabella which would just couldnt make it through the big knots. This brush can be used in the shower too without worry of water getting stuck inside like my old brushes with the cushions uner the bristles. Ive been using this brush in the shower, when its only semi dry, and whenever i just need to touch uo my hair when its dry. I'm not sure how it works. It doesn't look like anything special either, but works so well everytime! I'm grateful that it's brought me some relief in regards to no longer fearing to brush my hair when I just can't find the will to fight my mental illness and get out of the deep pit. There's no more crying, no sore arms, no throbbing scalp, and no self-hating. If you had the same struggle with your hair, you should give this a try!

This is a great brush. My 6 year old sits and let me brush her with no issues. It is as if this brush melts the tangles. She has thick hair and this brush goes through easily and she doesn't move or yell "Ouch"!

I have curly hair and this brush works amazingly on my hair! I can brush it out dry or wet and it will not hardly pull my hair at all!! It is the easiest brush I tried to clean and it is great quality! Have had the same brush for years!

I was very skeptical about this brush; I have 4b hair and have been using a Goody pick since 2002 and it's worked well. I used this brush to detangle my hair before washing it, and I was surprised at how easily it slipped through my ends. I sectioned my hair in twists and made sure it was wet beforehand, as some reviews mentioned it is not good on dry hair. The brush struggled to get through my roots, but I found using my fingers helped a bit. It snagged if I tried to detangle larger sections; it also snagged in the shower. Since one review mentioned they used the brush when shampooing, I thought I would try it - bad idea. I don't know why, but every time it went through my hair in the shower, it would snag and I'd hear snapping sounds, which was annoying considering I just trimmed my split ends. I guess for my hair, it does not work when it is completely drenched. Oh well. I will say that every time I have detangled my hair in the past, the sink always looked like a giant bird's nest afterwards. With this brush, I only got a handful of shedding. I did not believe the reviews that said they got much less shedding with this brush, but I am glad I was proven wrong. Overall, I would say this is a decent brush for the price. It does what I need it to do without losing a bunch of hair. I think it is over-hyped, but that is just my opinion. If you need a brush that will detangle type 4 hair without snagging (when wet), I'd say get this brush.

This UNbrush detangling brush works very well for removing knots and tangles without pulling too much. It glides through hair smoothly and feels gentle on the scalp, making it suitable for daily use. It works well on both wet and dry hair. Overall, it’s a reliable and gentle detangling brush that performs well.

These unbrushes are awesome! I have used many types of brushes over the years and these are the absolute best! I have fine long gray hair (past my shoulders)and I am 63, these are the best brushes! Removes knotted hair easily and without alot of pain! I have used this on my granddaughters curly hair and it works just as well...no crying or complaining that it hurts when brushing their hair! My husband tried my brush and had to get his own because he liked mine so well. Great product and highly recommend!

I’ve tried many brushes over the years and this might be one of the best I’ve used. I was skeptical at first, but it has become a staple for mem my toddler and my niece’s hair. What drew me in was its promise to be gentle yet effective on wet or dry hair. From day one, I noticed how soft the bristles feel on the scalp. There was no harsh snagging or pulling. I use it on my thin hair and it glides through easily even on tighter curls. I’ve also used it on my niece's thicker hair and it still detangled without too much fuss (just a few extra passes at times) One of my favorite things is that I can brush in large sections instead of dividing into tiny chunks like with other brushes. Whether hair is wet, damp, or dry, it doesn’t tug or pull, which means minimal shedding and breakage during brushing. For someone like me, with a tender scalp, it’s a big bonus that it doesn’t hurt. It does tend to feel lightweight or slightly flimsy at times, and I do worry about the bristles losing their form but so far that hasn’t happened. This was recommended to me by a friend as I told her I was not looking forward to take out my cornrows as I hair (4c) was guaranteed to be tangled. I got the brush and it worked so well I have recommended it to others already. I also will be buying and hoarding some so i always have one! No need to change the design it works on wet, damp or dry hair. Perfect for me.

This is literally the best deranging brush on the market, and believe me we have tried them all! Both my daughters have thick, curly/wavy hair that tangles sooo easily, and we've never found a brush that could get through it before the Unbrush. It's light and well made. We recently purchased a second one because we loved it so much! 10/10
