Do they get hot at all after long time being on or they stay cold ?

They do get “Warm” but not extremely hot !

Can these be turned on with a smart plug? so you don't have to touch the Power On button on the cable?

No I don’t think so. Every time mine are plugged in they still need touching to turn on. If it was a switch that was on the on setting then yeah like popping a kettle on before it’s plugged in but this is an actual button so can’t imagine it’ll work

Can these lights be turned on and off using software over the USB connection?

Its recommended that the USB connection comes from a direct power source (such as a wall plug with a usb port in), as the lights draw too much power for a computer USB.

Is the colour adjustable from warm to blue or is it daylight balanced only?

The only adjustment is the intensity of the light. There are also four translucent swappable plastic diffusers. One opaline, one blue, one green and one red. They can be used in combination to make different colours
