G2 COATED are worth it.
These G2 coated sound good. Reminds me of old school John Bonham style.

Top quality and sound
I've been playing drums for 35 years and these are my go to skins I love the sound quality and the extra layer with the oil in between For some reason this adds a nice deep tone and a real drum feel and sound you will not get super bounce out of these heads but you will get a beautiful tone and this is really an opinion that you will have to find out on Your own but once I gave these a try I fell in love with the feel and the tone. Also when I was younger I was a heavy banger I am now a much lighter touch but back then I would break pretty much any single skin head accept these because of the quality of the construction I believe.

Great Sounding Heads!
I've been using the EC2 clear heads for about 3 yrs exclusively! Just for piece of mind, I tried many other types of Evans heads, and other brands as well, like Remo...and I kept coming back to the Evans EC2 clears. Now that Evans has the new 360 degree technology, they tune even easier and faster because they sit on the bearing edge more evenly, almost perfectly, and without any play. This allows me to put the head on the drum, then put my hoop on, finger tighten my tension rods, and then tune accordingly(about one turn each rod in a cross pattern, then about a half turn the second time around). You may prefer to tune a different way! These heads sound somewhat fat, with not too much sustain (just right), and just the right amount of attack! The sound I get is perfect for live as well a recording, and I must add I use Evans Genera Resonant heads on the bottom to get the sound I'm referring to. I recommend giving these a try and hear for yourself how great they sound, I'll bet you won't be disappointed. Even on lower end drums they will sound really good. I had a Tama Rock Star kit, used the Evans EC2 clear heads on the kit, and the kit sounded pretty darn good for a low end kit!

The Original Standard
Outstanding quality and tone. These are the original standard for any drumset. Warm tones and quicker sustain than the clear G2's. Usually use these head while practicing for they sound great and are very durable. For performance I tend to switch to the hydraulics, G2 clears or something from Remo. Being in a black metal band these suit the gigs a little better. But usually use the 2 coated in the classic rock cover bands since the venues are nicer with great acoustics. Its all a matter preference really! Regardless what you use, the evans heads are awesome, and when using the heads on the Tom's 2ply is the way to go!

A disfrutar.
Gracias.

A great head for bop, jazz, and r&b
These drum heads sound great in a natural way. They have a pretty decent sustain and stay in tune very well. I have recently switched away from a more natural sound and gone with the clears, but these worked very well for jazz, and bop music. The sound is more on the thin and light side. They do not have a very full sound or heavy sound. Playing anything more than a classic rock type of music, these may not be a great fit for you. I would start looking at the g1 or g2 clears at that point. They are very durable and have never had one separate or break. The do develop some deep dents after a time though. The build quality has always been great and have never received a head out of round.

I should have switched to Evans years ago...
I threw these heads on hoping that it would offer a change but I wasn't prepared for just how amazing the toms would sound. In my pic, the second FT wasn't changed over but the two rack toms and first FT were as well as tuned low... Wow!!! I'm in love. It breathed life back into this old kit. I'm absolutely in love with the sound both live and for recording purposes. You can't go wrong with these.
