WOW a lot on a few sheets…
I purchased this to aid in learning Mandarin, a language that is difficult all by itself. I took off a star because it has so much information in really small print. I also didn't like how some of the sheet was organized. It has Pinyin but there is also traditional and new characters for SOME of the words. I was confused by the coloring too. All in all, I think it is a good reference for learning and I hope someday to become proficient.

Great tool to add to your vocabulary
I've been learning Chinese for a while now and something I've needed was a set of flash cards to help me memorize everything. I mainly listen to podcasts, but that doesn't help me recognize the characters in writing so this has been a great help. It jumps straight into pinyin translation and doesn't have an explanation for it, so you will be fine if you're already familiar with it or have access to another resource. I would seriously recommend this.

VERY BASIC INFORMATION
Arrived on time. This is very basic information, not good if you wish to learn how to speak Chinese.

takes the apprehension out of learning Mandarin
get this! and get the one on grammar, too. this writer is efficient, packing the basis of Mandarin into two pamphlets, taking the fear out of learning this important language and the pain out of starting. start with this, keep it, and your apprehension will turn to appetite. It breaks the barriers of starting to learn and gives you a hand to hold as you progress. but the pamphlets are just as good for those who only want a basis of understanding what Mandarin is about. i recommend and give these pamphlets to parents of children who are learning Mandarin and to people who, because of travel, profession, whatever, are going to come into greater contact with the language. Americans (and I'm one) often think Mandarin, which uses unique characters for whole words, is less efficient than the English system. if i had written this review in Mandarin, i could have fit it all into a tweet.

Nice reference guide
the most difficult thing about learning a language is sometimes remembering the vocabulary especially when you do not have someone to practice with on a daily basis I think this little chart is very helpful I keep it inside my binder and it allows me to go back and forth and remember even the simple things just so I can carry on a conversation. I am trying I want to surprise my in laws with trying to learn some basics. Sounds very funny with my East Tennessee accent. Because they are taking my spouse and I to Taiwan they want to show us where they grew up.

Deze kaart geeft een heel handig overzicht van de belangrijkste Chinese woorden. Misschien wat groot voor op reis, maar kan toch makkelijk in een rugzak. Dus toch heel handig.

As a beginner in mandarin language who stay in China 4 months / year I thought that it would have been really useful to have it, but I found it as useful as a Swiss knife : multipurpose, but a bit useless at the same time ! There are some good things in it and it is a thin reminder that might be handy to have in your luggage when you travel there. However, it's been obviously designed for Americans, and why a serious learner of the Chinese language and culture would like to learn useless things such as : "hello", "I'm american", "american football", "ice hockey", "older female cousin", "father's younger brother" etc... The idea and the intention was good but to be honest, I'm not sure that I like it.
