Wayland Chiles is a small family seed farm located in Florida. All of the seeds sold are grown in the USA. Carl’s Glass Gem corn produces a diversity of beautiful translucent, jewel-colored ears, each one unique. A stunning corn variety selected over many years by Carl Barnes, a part-Cherokee farmer and breeder from Oklahoma. The deer also ate many of them, it was not the seeds it was deer and rain. Many still did grow. I was very pleased with the amazing colors they grew . I was excited with each ear I peeled open to see what I got. I was shocked to see many with pink, green purple, burgundy. I'm new to glass gem corn. I read they like fertile soil, I'm assuming that has a lot to do with the color. But will definitely buy more to plant for 2022 summer. I would definitely buy from this seller. The corner grew just as stated. Be careful of any glass gem seed sellers that show corn as a rainbow or looking like stained glass...this was described 100% as to what they grew.. Excellent quality seeds !!
I planted 2 of every color and every seed germinated. These cobs are small because we went away for a weekend and the garden didn’t get watered so the stalks were stunted. Excellent color! I wouldn’t hesitate to buy more seeds from this seller.

I am a lazy gardener
I soaked seeds overnight and then cast them on a small dirt plot. After racking them over I left all to chance. just a few days later....sprouts. It looks like all have germinated.

So far so good
It took a little time to sprout but has sprouted and is now growing. Product was exactly what it was supposed to be. Instructions were so detailed that there was no way I could mess it up.

Great So Far!
Almost 100% germination in only a few days!! The crop has been transplanted and is doing great so far. Will update when the ears come in.

Just Buy A Cob Of Corn

The seeds came a fess days ahead of the projected delivery date which was great because I ordered them late in the season (early June). I planted about 20 seeds and 8 came up. This may be due to late season planting and the fact the soil dried out once prior to germination. It's now about 90 days after planting (sep 6). The ones that did come up are enormous now and one plant is sporting 3 big stems each with a healthy looking cob developing. The plants are about 9 ft high and looking very robust. I'm looking forward to harvesting some cool corn. I'll update with photos after I harvest

I was surprised at how fast these seeds came in and they are completely legit the proper corn. The envelope came with very good planting instructions that were clear and easy to follow. This is an extremely good deal for this rare corn. I'm hoping in 7-10 days I'll have my own Glass Gem corn!
