OlympusVN-7100 Digital Voice Recorder

Hi All,I purchased this to use for my masters thesis but was disappointed to see that there was no way I could plug in the recorder to my laptop to take the recordings out of the system. However, the sound quality is great, the battery lifetime too is very encouraging and the fact that it is small and cute makes it even more a worthy product. I recommend that anyone looking to save future recordings however purchase another recorder (stick with the Olympus brand, trust me!!) for that purpose.

This recorder is very simple and easy to operate. I still have not read the instruction booklet. I opened the packaging, placed the batteries and started to use it.I use this recorder for short notes throughout my day. I have had some medical problems come up and my vision has become unreliable, making lists and notes hard to write or read.With the very poor vision, this recorder is very easy to operate and use. The battery life seems to be very good. I do use it daily for a average total of about 30 minutes of recording throughout the day. I have had the recorder for a couple of months now and still have not needed to change the batteries. I am sure it would use more batteries if you do long recordings and/or use it a lot. The play back sounds great (for a recorder). I have not used a head phone or microphone jacks with it so I can't comment on those features. It has separate folders for saved files that are easy to manage. The buttons are easy to see and identify as well. It does have a place to add a wrist strap but it did not come with one. I had an extra and added it to the recorder making it easy to hold onto.Overall if you are looking for a simple voice recorder that is easy to operate this one would be a good choice. I have owned Olympus products throughout the years and they have always been reliable and well made..

I would have preferred a machine that I could go back and forth to listen to portions of what I record, it doesn't have this function you have to go back to the beginning, " annoying ". Other than that it does the job, clear sound and loud,.

Works great to record even music instrument sounds for me. I record my playing on the Medeli Mc37a keyboard. It records clearly and with wonderfull clearness.And now for the miracle of why this can hook up to a computer and sounds from it can be recorded. You just need a 3.5mm male to male audio cable and a sound recorder program (which may be built into your computer in the entertainment section. Plug in through the audio jack and yes, this recorder is great for storing its sounds on the computer and its small and light weight and batteries last long with this one.

I like the recorder, but it did not come with charged batteries. After I used new batteries, the item perfectly worked

My son has to record his trumpet homework for his band teacher. This little digital voice recorder works great. It is very easy for my 10 year old to use on his own. The sound quality on the playback was better than I thought it would be. I will recommend this to all my friends with kids entering band.

Very disappointed with the way the recorder’s arrived small brown box’sThe item’s didn’t come in the manufactured box’s no instructions and no batteries.

I am so glad I purchased the Olympus VN-7100 Digital Voice Recorder. It works great and is very useful recording professor's lectures at college. The size is perfect and the sound is high quality.
