I ordered this Battery Tender 800 waterproof charger a couple weeks ago and had installed it onto the battery of my mustang that sits for quite a while between starts and drives. Since the battery was at full charge it litterally took a very short time to go into storage mode and do what it was designed to do. Previous to this item I had the Battery Tender Jr that had failed after approx 6 months BUT, in Deltrons defense, I was using it between my jetski and my mustang. I knew it wasnt designed for outdoor use, especially here in the humidity of southwest Florida ( I did have the forementioned items under a carport and the item covered by the jetski seat or mustangs hood). I never blamed the Deltron company and never left a poor review as I was more to blame for using the wrong device for outside storing. I do also own the Battery Tender Plus and have used it inside my storage shed on my RV battery for about 1.5 years now with no problems at all. Though I have not given the BT800 enough time to write a thorough review I realize that thier prodects are above average for the price and wanted to share my overall experience in general with thier products. I can safely assume the BT800 will surpass its expectations as it was desinged as an outdoor product. My mustang does sit under a carport and the BT800 sits under a closed hood where it will never actually get rained on, come in direct sunlight, chemicals, or any type of water outside of humidity. So since its designed for this and even harsher conditions I feel assured it will give me years of practical use. I will come back periodically to update this review as time goes on. I would recommend any of the Deltron products to anyone who plans to use them in the way they were designed! ***update 2/1/15*** Unit still works perfectly under the stangs hood, keeps the battery charged perfectly so its ready to go when I decide to start or drive it. I still highly recommend this product for anyone needing to maintain a battery that is outdoors!

This thing is life changing. I don’t drive much so my car set in the garage all winter. Even though I have a new battery it would not hold a charge. This little device does the trick. Just leave it plugged in and she’s good to go. I wish it was portable so I could take it with me.

Excellent charger for the money. Comes with 2 ways to hook up to yor battery, alligator clips, and sae plug. My motorcycle already had the plug installed on it from the previous owner so I guess I have a spare. Weather resistance is a plus as my bike stays under a cover parked under my carport, but when there's gusty winds and rain it does blow in, so being weather resistant helps. Once you install your choice of hook up, it's just a matter of plug and play. Very easy. Remeber to set for lead acid ir lipo battery, another usefull feature as I plan on upgrading to a lithium battery in the near future so I don't need to buy another tender/charger. Indicator lights let you know what type of battery is selected, and when the charger is charging. It's made very well and pretty heavy for it's size so I expect it to last for years to come. Also comes with screws so you can mount it to a table or wall. Very happy with my purchase.

Another homerun from Deltran! I have been using Battery Tender brand float chargers for many years and have been very satisfied. Based on some of the reviews and questions posted, I’m not sure all folks have a complete understanding of the intended purpose of these chargers. This is not designed to be a primary charger that is used to recharge a dead battery. This is used to maintain a charge on a battery during times when a vehicle or piece of equipment will be idle. It can stay plugged in all of the time and will not over-charge the battery. I use this particular one on my utility trailer which has an on-board deep-cycle battery to power a winch as well as interior lighting. When the trailer is not in use, I rely on the Battery Tender to keep the battery at peak charge. Because the trailer is parked outside, I chose this unit which is moisture resistant. Folks often ask if it is waterproof—the short answer is “no.” It has an International Protection Marking of IP67 (6 = Dust tight and 7 = Protected against immersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes) and while it is certainly resistant to the elements (mine has been outside for almost eighteen months now) it would not be advisable to leave it where it is constantly wet or submerged. The charger comes with a harness with typical alligator clamps for temporary hookup as well as a harness with ring terminals for permanent installation. The harness is especially handy if the battery is not easily accessible—once it is installed, it stays with the vehicle and you only need to plug the charger into the harness. I highly recommend these chargers.

I got this to maintain the battery on my C63 Mercedes which I (unfortunately) am currently unable to drive and which is just idling under the covered parking next to the house, for months at a time. I connected it directly to "jump start" terminals under the hood (the actual battery is in the trunk under the mat - not a very convenient area to access), plugged it into wall outlet on the exterior of our house (the 220V "utility" outlet - this device supports it), routed the cable, closed the hood. The indicator light was glowing "yellow" (meaning it was charging) and then turned solid "green" after a few hours (the charging current of this particular model is small so the process is pretty slow), and I just left it connected after that. Overall I am very satisfied with this unit - it is pretty compact, very inexpensive (especially compared to ridiculously overpriced Mercedes-rebadged CTEK chargers/maintainers), waterproof (I already tested, we had thunderstorm a couple of days ago), fully automatic unit with a good warranty. The only couple of minor drawbacks I can see are that the included cable (the one with alligator clips) is a little bit short (though there's an extension available for extra money, which I already purchased) and that there's no carrying case included. But these are pretty subjective drawbacks and I still highly recommend this unit if you are looking for a truly universal (except for maintaining Li-based batteries), durable battery maintainer. And if you need a unit with higher charging current for faster charging - there are also plenty of these available from same manufacturer.

This is a battery MAINTAINER, not a charger. It will charge smaller batteries, and given several days, bigger batteries. Excellent for seldom driven vehicles or machinery, especially mowers, boat cranking and trolling batteries. Modern vehicles have so much 'stuff' with 'parasite' electrical drains, making this a crucial tool if a car sits much longer than a week or so. Main Point No.1 - This is WEATHERPROOF!!!!! Most similar devices are NOT. Handy for those without garages. Note that the terminal clamps convert to 'eyes' for a more permanent install and the cord can be routed out the grill leaving a short length sticking out with a 'plug-in' connection. However the supplied battery end cord is only 18" long and I need to get a longer one (I think I saw these on Amazon). Thus, one does not need to raise the hood every time you hook-up the maintainer. Main Point No.2 - This unit has a brain. It will charge until the battery reaches a pre-set upper limit, the shut off until the battery self-discharges to a pre-set lower limit. Main Point No.3 - The unit will not charge if a battery is really drained, which is my only negative comment. So, have your 'Yard-Sale and Flea Market' folks buy every old-school charger they find and use them to 'trick' the modern chargers into functioning.

Works fantastic to keep my lawnmower battery charged. It’s weather proof which I want for an outdoor storage space. This is my second one and it works great.

Great battery charger. Doesn't work super fast as it is just a battery trickle charger/maintainer, but it does not have any issue charging and keeping charged my 12 volt deep cycle marine trolling motor battery. Comes with clamps that you can use to attach to the battery terminals, or little eyelet terminal leads that you can screw onto the battery terminals. They are interchangeable with the in line connector, and make it very easy to switch out or remove the battery. Simple indicator light lets you know when charging, yellow, and when it's maintaining/done charging, green. Incidentally, I also used this to maintain power to my car when I installed a new battery. Some makes/models can get a little fussy when the battery is disconnected and the car loses power. This can result in needing it to get reset at the dealer. However when you maintain some current, for example with a maintainer like this one, you can avoid those problems. I have been using this product for about 3 years, and would recommend it to anyone.

Fa il suo lavoro egregiamente...ricordatevi di acquistare a parte un adattatore per prese americane perché non è compreso nel kit, mal di poco con pochi euro si trovano in tutti i negozi di elettronica o da un elettricista di fiducia. Consiglio vivamente l'acquisto a chi come me usa la moto solo nel periodo estivo.
