Once you find a library that is compatible it works a treat
Struggled to get it going initially with an ESP32-C3 mini, since the AdaFruit and ElectricCat libraries didn't work. The FastIMU library did provide a solution and it identied the sensor as an ICM20689. I'm now reading data at 200Hz with 500us to spare and logging to SD card. I bought 3 more and these are MPU6050 devices, differently silk-screened boards with a slight difference in colour. Work OK from what testing I've done so far.

After leaving a bad review and starting return I decided to try one last thing and this might help you. Don't use the adfruit library use the Electronic cats mpu6050 after changing they work as intended

These modules are easy to hook up and work fine. They give accurate readings for what I needed. Good little pack. Cheap!

Decent IMU
Works with many mpu6050 libraries. Not good for sudden high g force movements but for smaller movements it is perfect. Helps to use some kalman filtering.

Ich habe den Hinweis aus einer Haus-Automatisations-Community: die Gyro können nicht nur im Fluggerät sondern auch zur Schlafüberwachung / Im Bett für die Haussteuerung eingesetzt werden. 👍👌 Zum Sensor selbst: 20mmx15mm groß und 1.09 Gramm, die Platine ist einseitig bestückt und kann daher angeklebt werden. Serielle Daten kommen über I²C (Neigung und Achsenverschiebung), das umschalten der beiden Adressen erfolgt über Lötbrücke. Auslesen konnte ich am ESP per MQTT mit Tasmota und ESPEasy. In Home Assistant geht die Einbindung per ESPHome Integration und eine Bibliothek für die Arduino-IDE gibt es auch. Das bietet viele Einsatzzwecke und Auswahl in der Toolauswahl. Für meine Zwecke sehr gut und auf Platine mit ESP8266 in unter 20g zu machen. 5/5
