Still Going Strong Since 2019 — Solid RAM for 4K Editing
I’ve had the CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX DDR4 3000 MHz (2×8 GB) in my editing system since 2019, now running a total of 32 GB, and it’s still doing its job reliably in 2025. From day one it’s handled 4K footage and heavy editing workloads without crashes or instability. The modules install easily, and BIOS has always detected them properly. Even after years of use, I’ve never had a failure or issue. While it’s not the absolute fastest RAM available today, the performance has been more than adequate for my workflow — rendering, playback, multitasking — everything runs smoothly. It keeps pace well, and the value for what it delivers over time has been great. If I were summarizing: dependable, rock-solid, and long-lasting. For an editing rig that doesn’t demand bleeding-edge specs, this Corsair LPX kit has been a dependable workhorse.

Compatible with MSI X470 Gaming Plus Ryzen 2nd gen Motherbaord with Ryzen 5 CPU - Very fast
At first, I bought and installed a Crucial 16GB Single DDR4 UDIMM CL17 memory into my new MSI X470 Gaming Plus motherboard with Ryzen 5 CPU. I'm experienced with building PC's from scratch, been my hobby since college. When I started the computer for the first time, it would not post or allow me to go into BIOS, and gave out 3 long beeps. Online search found that it's a memory not detected, or faulty. I don't think it's a bad motherboard because I've never had a motherboard fail, but I've had lots of memory cards that did fail even when new. If cheap components are used in a memory card, it will have lots of quality and compatibility issues. After trying to re-seat the 16GB card many times, it finally worked without explanation. In BIOS, I wasn't able to enable my motherboard's XMP to adjust memory speed or settings (all XMP settings were locked out). After running it for a few hours, I shut the PC down to install a new CD-Rom. Then when I turn my PC on, again would not post or allow me to go into BIOS, gave three long beeps, memory issue again. I finally gave up on the Crucial 16GB card and bought a premium gaming memory, CORSAIR 16GB (8GB x 2) Vengeance LPX, CL15, 3000 Mhz. After installing the Corsair memory cards, the computer booted fine the first time, and booted up twice as fast into Windows 10. My first guess is the Crucial memory cards are defective or has compatibility issues. My second guess is the CL17 of the Crucial memory is too slow for the Ryzen 5 2nd gen CPU and motherboard, and Ryzen 5 needs memory cards rated at CL15 and CL16 or faster (the lower the CL the faster the memory). Funny thing is after I purchased the Corsair Vengeance, as I was waiting for it to ship to my house, the Crucial 16GB was working again, computer was able to boot up. It's as if it knows the Crucial memory is getting replaced and it decided to work again. After installing the Corsair Vengeance cards, the default speed was at 2100 Mhz, without XMP configuration. I went into the Bios, enabled A-XMP, set it to profile 2, and it's now operating at 2933 Mhz, close to the advertised speed of 3000 Mhz! Very happy with the Corasir Vengeance memory cards ($110 at time of purchase) even though it was $11 more than the Crucial card. Pro's: 1. Much faster than CL17 cards, noticeable shorter boot time to Windows 10 (10 seconds versus 20 seconds on the CL17 card), faster shut down 2. Very sleek looking and has aluminum heat sinks for cooling, improves durability and life 3. XMP compatible. Easy to configure over clocking using most newer motherboards that has XMP. 4. More reliable and higher quality. Didn't have trouble on first boot. Cons: 1. A bit more expensive than the average memory cards. 2. 8GB x 2 cards used up 2 of my 4 slots on an ATX motherboard. If one is building on a Micro ATX motherboard where there are only 2 memory slots, one will not be able to expand the memory in the future as both slots are used up.

Does the job
Its ram, its fast, and it works out of the box. I picked this pair up on sale and for the price i'm very satisfied. the xmp profile has become a standard at this point so you don't have to deal with timings in the bios when installing these. i didn't try to push them to see if they would go any faster as i didn't feel the need, some might but i can't speak to it. The timings are reasonable for the speed and your not going to find anything guaranteed at faster timings/MHz without spending quite a bit more. One thing i have to mention is that corsair does really understand little things that make a product better. for instance, the actual stick of ram is the same color as the heatspreaders which is a very nice detail. i've seen other brands that just have the basic green underneath a fake heatspreader that basically sits over the ram and isn't even in contact with it. It's easy to see that these are solid and well manufactured. Corsair also has good QC, as i've never purchased something from them that was DOA (*though it does happen). This is a good set of ram and if your looking for something that looks nice and preforms well then go ahead and grab these up.

Corsair RAM, Solid and Reliable
I’ve used these Vengeance RAM kits from Corsair since DDR3 and have never had any complaints. They are well built with a discrete but stylish heatsink and they just work for a decent price for good RAM. I will say that even though this kit is on my MOBO’s QVL and does work, it doesn’t reach the stock 3000MHz speed unless manually overclocked. It only reaches 2133MHz which is disappointing but it’s entirely due to the new architecture of Ryzen 7 so I can’t hold that against the RAM kit really. Corsair makes great products and although there is a small premium, I don’t believe it too be asking too much. If you need fast and reliable ram then this is easy to recommend.

Works great no issues.
Installed easy enough and upgraded my current with the same as these to double the RAM. Corsair is a wonderful brand totally recommend.

Great RAM, but make sure you check the sticks inside, could be wrong RAM
It's hard to calculate how to rate the product itself versus the packaging QA, but I figure I'll just mark it as 4 star. The RAM sticks are wonderful, as described, fast, work fine. Can't complain. But...I ordered 2 sets of these. The 2nd box, although clearly labeled (pic included) the correct RAM, looks like whoever did the packaging was on a bit of a lazy day. I got 2x 4GB sticks at 2133 speed instead of 2x 8GB sticks at 3000 speed. I put a ticket in with them, but they're closed on the weekends and it says "2 business days to respond." I really reserve trying to complain, but it's really a pain I have to not only figure out the mistake for them, but I have to use my time and energy to coordinate them responding and reconciling this, plus wait additional time to receive the correct product. I have many other products from Corsair and I love their stuff (H100i V2, new Spec-Alpha case, STRAFE keyboard...), but I have heard others have mistakes like this, and although nobody is perfect, they really should do their best to limit them so they're practically unheard of because it's really annoying to customers when they have to fix mistakes. Not many hardware manufacturers are really all that good with QA I've noticed, but be the ones who stand out above the rest instead, Corsair! I only took one star off for that because, well, all the sticks work fine and they're amazing, but I just have 2 out of 4 of my sticks completely wrong until they do something about it :*(

Good DDR4 RAM
I needed another 16GB set for my i5-8600k. I already had a 16GB set of G.Skill RipJaws but need the additional capacity for some memory intensive media work (very large image files) I'm doing lately. I ordered this set at a good price to make sure I had plenty of memory available. After getting these two sticks installed, with XMP enabled on my Z370 MB I booted into Linux (I dual boot with Windows 10) and ran a bunch of memory benchmarks through Phoronix. I saw nice increases across the board. Real world performance is as expected. I can load up the large, high-dpi images in GIMP for processing now much faster. Corsair makes good stuff. I've bought memory, cases, coolers, and accessories from them in the past and been very satisfied. At this price, this RAM is a good upgrade or starter set if you're building a new box.
