Comfortable and effective
Got this holster as I normally carry AIWB with a sidecar style holster. That setup does not work for occasions where I am dressed up and have a tucked in button down shirt with a suit jacket. I throw this on and ride it at 6 oclock. Very comfortable. I still have some breakin to do with the retention strap because once I unsnap it I have to move it out of the way then draw cannot just pull through it yet which really slows down access to the firearm. I elected for the retention strap as I do not trust just a leather sleeve to keep me firearm secured. Breakin process took me about 1 hour. Just threw my g19 in a plastic ziploc and began to work it into the holster twisting it every which direction. Nice secure fit that will continue to improve with use. I also grabbed some leather boot wax and gave a coat of that to help moisturize and loosen the holster up. Seemed to have worked. Hardest part I found was the belt loop holes are insanely tight and very hard to get them through the first few times. I solved this by using a solid ruler and fed that through to open the holes up a bit. I do not use the belt holes just the clip but wanted to have the option should I need it in the future. This being my backup holster for special occasions it mostly sits empty I've debated getting a replica g19 like a blue gun or airsoft that I can use to loosen it up a bit. Overall very high quality. I will by another holster from these guys for my next carry that might be for special occasions only

Worth it
I picked up the 1791 Gunleather 4-Way Thumb Break Holster because I wanted something that felt solid and versatile for everyday carry. Right away you can tell the leather quality is good itโs thick, well-stitched, and starts to mold nicely after a little break-in. What I like most is the four carry options. You can wear it vertical, horizontal, cross-draw, or even inside the waistband depending on whatโs comfortable that day. That flexibility makes it feel like youโre getting multiple holsters in one. The thumb break retention strap adds extra security but still releases quickly when drawing. The holster also rides close to the body, which makes it more comfortable for longer wear. After using it for a while, it feels like one of those leather holsters that will last for years. If you want a durable leather holster with multiple carry options and solid retention, this one is definitely worth it.

GOOD FIT FOR G19 GEN4
I have this holster on a 1-1/2" wide by over 1/4" (approximately 7mm) thick leather gun belt by "Crossbreed Holsters" and use it with a G19 Gen4. It was pretty tight at first but after massaging, reholstering, and re-belting numerous times it fits much better now. A little rubbing of black shoe polish inside helped also. The retention strap and snap fit perfect. The metal belt clip has the usual bend at the opening for IWB carry and seems that it would be secure if you can bear to wear it in that manner, the leather is very robust. I don't know all the variations of the G19 but mine has shown no wear or scuffing on the slide or frame from breaking in this holster even without using a plastic bag so maybe it has a different finish than others. I bought it for OC around the "farm", fishing trips, storing in the truck toolbox, and other various secure locations where the hard plastic and paddle type holsters would be more awkward and not offer the same coverage. Being such a well made holster I hope that it can be fitted to more specific models.

G23 fits perfectly. Tough at first but worth it
Hear me out. I got this for a G23. It is amazingly DIFFICULT to break in. It is even worse to get a belt through (see video)! But if you get through that you will see why I gave this holster 4 stars. It really should be 5 for quality but how tight they make it almost had me return it. During the break in I left it alone for 24 hours. When I left for my trip I had difficulty getting my tactical belt through. A flat head screw driver will be your friend!! I basically wore it for the last 9 days 24/7 due to my trip. After being on my side for so long and going through the work it did IT IS A GREAT holster. The belt loop is still snug but definitely broke in on the trip. Iโve never had another holster so secure for the G23. I am satisfied with the product. If youโre struggling to get the thumb break button closed during break in push your 2a against a hard surface to force the new form and then you will be able to snap the button closed.

Disappointed
I'm a bit disappointed. I've hote several 1791 holsters, this is the first one that absolutely doesn't fit the gun I bought it for. It says it's for a Glock 19, bit it's so tight I can't even get the pistol in. I tried the break in instructions provided with the holster, and it's still impossibly tight. I have a couple other pistols that fit in it fine, so I'm not sending it back, but it doesn't work for the pistol I planned on using it for. It's a shame, it's a very nice holster, it just doesn't fit my pistol.

Great holster... Note, it wont fit out of the box, at first.
After I got this holster, mine was an overly tight fit for my H&K USP Compact 45. I almost sent it back, but instead I did a little research. You will need to slightly reshape the leather to fit it to your handgun. After a few videos, I simple put my handgun into two large zip-lock bags. Ran my holster under hot water until wet. Then inserted (pressed) the bagged gun into the holster, then stretched and snapped the thumb break lock button on. Then I left it sitting in a dry warm area for 24hours. After it was dry, I pulled out my gun, took the bags off, then re-inserted it into the holster, and it was a perfect fit. Looks great and very comfortable fit on my gun-belt. Note you will also have to stretch the belt loops. I did this by inserting wood shims, also while wet. The result is a great holster, I know I will get a ton of use out of.

Use of holster with a Glock 19
Start off, holster is well-made with a quality leather and looks seamless. The only issue that I found is the Glock 19 is a little bigger than the holster the fit too tight. This was causing the gun not to go all the way in so you can snap the strap. The solution is to use warm water and wet the inside of the holster and wrap your gun in plastic bags or some type of plastic (I are use a few Ziploc bags) insert the gun into the holster. Once you do this, leave the gun wrapped in plastic in the holster until almost dry This causes the leather to stretch. Once you do this, the Glock fits perfect.

Avoid 1791
Holster is good quality. However the product photos are showing the Left Hand version of this holster, although the description states it is a Right Hand holster. The seller is no fun to work with.
