Innova 5610 OBD2 Bidirectional Scan Tool - Understand Your Vehicle, Pinpoint What's Wrong, and Complete Your Repairs with Less Headache, Updates Included, US-Based Technical Support

I’ve used a lot of scanners over the years (including higher-end professional tools), and the Innova 5610 really surprised me for the price. This is NOT just a basic code reader. It pulls codes from multiple systems like ABS, SRS, and transmission—not just the engine—which is huge if you’re actually diagnosing problems instead of guessing. The bi-directional controls are the biggest standout. Being able to activate components (fuel pump, fans, etc.) makes troubleshooting way easier and can save you from throwing parts at a problem. That feature alone puts it above most scanners in this price range. Live data is solid and easy to read, and the graphing feature helps when tracking down intermittent issues. I’ve used it on both domestic vehicles (Ford trucks) and imports, and it handled most things without issue. The app integration is also a nice bonus. It gives repair suggestions and lets you save reports, which is helpful if you’re working on multiple vehicles or documenting issues

I haven't used the Innova 5610 OBD2 Scanner too much yet, but what little bit I have used it I really like it. I upgraded to the 5610 from the Innova 3140b CAN OBD 2 & 1 Scaner. I really like that the 5610 downloads fix solutions and you can download the Repair Solutions 2 app and link it to your phone via Bluetooth. As a former mechanic, I think it is a great tool for DIYers and I look forward to exploring the 5610 OBD2 Scanner and it's capabilities. I think the 5610 is reasonably priced and easy to use, easy to read. I used the 5610 to help a friend with a issue with her check engine light and the code it pulled was the same as what the Dealership pulled. I would recommend this Scan tool.

My Innova 3160b stop reading my Camaro and i have NO IDEA why? It could read other cars fine but not my Camaro so i was in need of a new OBD2. I have the torque app on my phone and it helps BUT it can't read ABS, SRS and many other codes. So i saw this Innova 5610 on sale and bought it. THIS TOOL CAN DO ANYTHING if "and i mean a BIG IF" your car computer allows it to do so. On my 1999 3.8 Camaro, it gives me a lot of information "remember, my car is 27 years old". It gives me transmission data the 3160b couldn't such as, Temperature, current gear, rpms of the torque converter, times of each shift, etc. I was blown away. I test it on a 2009 Corolla and it didn't gave me the same data, it only gave me the transmission temperature reading. I'm sure if something was wrong with the Corollas transmission it will gave me the correct code. This OBD2 will give you ANY DATA of your car but it HIGHLY DEPENDS on the cars computer NOT the OBD2 itself. Neither the Corolla or the Camaro have Bi directional options which it was expected. The 5610 has a learning curve to it, on some cars connects fast on others a bit slow. Honestly, you need a scan tool, it will help you not only to fix your car and find what's wrong with it but it will help you not get scammed by some mechanics that do so on purpose.

2023 Update: In late 2022, Innova finally rolled out their software updates. We can give give them credit for that. Since then, they have been having promotions giving away coupons and scanner accessory kits for filling out their surveys. Unfortunately, the coupons are only valid for items purchased from their website (big markups) and the kits are available only for those who purchased from Amazon where they want your reviews! And this review which received over 150 upvotes is no longer visible near the top of the review list as the "Top Reviews" filtering seems to not be working, at least for this listing. Instead they are showing more recent 2023 reviews, some with no upvotes and the top review with "2" upvotes! So I can't say for sure what's going on with Amazon's review filtering. As of this update (9/2023), their review average for the model 5610 is 4.3 stars. So at this point it looks like Innova might deserve 5 stars for their recent performance, however I leave my review at 4 stars for all of the drama it took to get to this point. Bottom line: As of 9/2023, the 5610 and many of their other products have been updated to at least 2022 software. It's a good product and now it's up to date. Update 3/15/22: I asked Amazon about the lack of software updates on this 5610 (at $330, their 2nd most expensive scanner) and got a response from DereksAuto who presumably is connected to Innova. He responded that Innova updates their tools "per year". And that I should download the updater tool and have Windows 8.1 or 10, etc. Well I've already been there, done that. I even installed the updater on a new laptop PC just before writing this update to test it there as well just to be fair. Again, no go. I've already been on the phone with Innova a few times over the last year and a half. Same story, same baloney... they're waiting for the update. Cue Jeopardy music. Jeopardy answer: What is the software that is perpetually in development? Bottom line is you can buy this tool now with software up to April of 2018 and have something useful if your car is 2018 and older. Newer than that and you have a glorified code reader. Don't expect DerecksAuto or Innova to tell you the truth about their vaporware software updates. The product is good but broken promises and lies I cannot abide. Sorry maybe the Dude can, but I can't. Come on Innova, release the update already. Original review: The 5610 is a Good Enthusiast Level Scanner. It is for the above average DIY person. Coverage for various cars is inconsistant so check with the company to make sure it does what you need for your specific vehicle. It has a nice easy to read display. The OBDII cable has a light on the end to help you find the port. It will test your battery and alternator. It pairs with an app which adds value. The live data is very useful if you learn how to interpret it. The manual is detailed. Get yourself a case and mini usb cable. The full manual is nice and detailed but comes only in electronic form. The software, in spite of the company proming free updates, remains STALLED at a 2018 level since I bought it over a year ago. I have been told by more than one Innova employee that updates were forthcoming but no updates ever materialized. And they are listing the device here as a "Newest 2022 OBD2 Diagnostic Code Scanner ". This is not true and I encourage Innova support to reach out to me if they have some secret update they are holding back. If your vehicle is 2018 and older, this scanner can be a good choice. Anything newer will not be supported except basic code reading (you can get a $20 scanner for that). I would wait until Innova proves (not just a flashy headline) that they actually updated the software before considering the 5610 for anything post 2018.

At this point in time, this is a fantastic tool. I say this because of the free extended analysis and recommendation provided by the app on your phone. The tool collects the data and generates a report on your phone that is extremely helpful in diagnosing and repairing car problems. The tool itself is a very well made product with an easy to see display. Feels solid. It connects quickly and provides the scanner data that we expect to see when connected to the car. I am not a mechanic, but I am not afraid to dig into mildly complicated repairs and maintenance. I bought this tool when I had a check engine light come on during some rough engine idling. I suspected ignition coils. The tool scanned and reported a cylinder misfire, the data then transferred to my phone via Bluetooth. The app the generated a report which recommended replacing ignition coils and spark plug. This was spot on. After replacing the coils and spark plugs, the engine ran fine. I cleared the codes and the car has been running perfectly. I saved a thousand dollars on this repair. No joke. While tools like these are useful, the data they generate require experience to understand. This is where the app really shines. It cuts to the recommendation without having to understand all the nuances. Subsequently, I have taken some time to learn about scan tool modes and data from various YouTube videos and this has really enhanced the experience using this tool. Trust, but verify, you know. I am very satisfied with this scan tool and the free repair application. As long as the app remains free, this is a very useful tool. You can learn a lot and it works better than any other scan tool I have owned. Highly recommended.

I purchased the 5610 to clear codes that were triggering my car's check engine light. The5610 can do this, but it does a whole lot more. My first impressions were that it is a very solidly built device, with good button responses. It feels secure and should last for quite a while. I liked that the purchase price included the Repair Solutions 2 software, which should be very useful. Inovva also provides a free downloadable updater program, which worked perfectly to update the firmware and data files of my 5610. Lastly, as relates to hardware, I liked the fact that the OBD port illuminates when installed correctly. When set up, the device rapidly reported a set of DTC car error codes, and allowed me to evaluate and clear them. Saved me a lot of time (and money). Should also mention that this product is made and sold by an US company and provided excellent product support and response.

Excellent product, easy to use and it gives enough diagnostic information in order to troubleshoot the problem. The Bluetooth feature is excellent and live feedback. Information is priceless.

Lo compré para mi carro CrossFox y no he tenido suerte, no aparece en los autos disponibles, tuve que pensarlo antes que es un scanner de Estados Unidos no iba a leer un carro de Brasil, tuve esperanza pero no me ayudó.

It is supposed to be an excellent scan tool but haven’t been able to trick the App into allowing me to download it.

Fonctionne très bien,facile a utiliser,j'ai pas tous esseyer les fonctions il y en beaucoup.Ca nous enligne sur le véritable problème.On peut se dire je suis capable de le réparé,ou je l'envoie au garage.Avec le code on peut savoir ce qui fonctionne pas.Il détecte même des futurs problèmes.Tres content de mon achat.Le seul point négatif c'est qu' il a du retard il ne peut traiter les nouveaux véhicules.Comme on a pas d'abonnements a payer annuellement,c'est un peu pour ça le 1 an ou 2 de retard sur les nouveaux véhicules.Par contre je suis très satisfait je recommande🥳

Useless, product didnt even work in my country why sell a product internationally, when it will not work outside of america. Waste of money
