Would children like to play with this shape color sorting toy?

Yes! My niece loves matching them up and talking about the different shapes and colors. Great learning Montessori sorting toy!

Match only the correct shape with his correct shape?

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, there are that 12 geometric shapes on each side as its shape. The eggs will only match with its color and shape.

Is a 2 year old too old for this? Thinking about getting this for a 2 year old niece but not sure if she’ll be interested.

My 4 year old loves this toy! I got it for my friends’ kids who are 18 months old and he wanted one of his own. The 18-month-olds enjoy taking them apart but aren’t interested in the learning aspect yet. But I would imagine a 2-year-old would be old enough to actually benefit from the learning element of them.

How many colors does this toddler toy egg have? 12 different colors?

No, these egg toys just have 6 different colors, but it has 12 different shapes.
