Can it cover seam of nylon windbreaker/raincoat to replace tape that peeled off? Does it have enough adhesive? I cannot use iron on that! Thanks!

I just replaced the seam tape that was on my nylon motorcycle cover. The original seam tape and peeled off. Put your iron on LOW heat. Place the seam tape on the seam you want to cover, doing very small sections at a time. Place a thin towel (I used a shop towel) over the seam tape, then iron it in place. Remember ... small sections (3-4 inches) at a time. To answer your original question ... this tape does NOT just stick on. It MUST be ironed on, because the adhesive is heat activated. I had to learn to "trust" this process. It works!!

Is there a similar product that does not require ironing (I want to sew together some plastic tarps, and I don't want them to melt)?

You need to heat the tape in order for the adhesive to melt & fully seal the seams so they are completely waterproof. Otherwise if the stitching gets wet water will seep in & cause leaks, and the stitches may even weaken & come undone. The plastic won't melt if you place a sheet of paper or cloth over the tape before applying heat.

Is it clear after application?

Not crystal but it turns clearer that when you know it hot enough you can go back and touch up places that are still hazy
