His historical action novels were the most popular of his works, these include: โThe Count of Monte Cristoโ, โThe Three Musketeersโ and โTwenty Years Afterโ Wordsworth Classics new Best of series enables you to buy a collection of the key works of the finest authors. Review: Dumas is a great read and should be experienced. - I can't believe I'd never read any of these but they are SO good! Count of Monte Cristo is a standalone (and a great read) but the other should be read in sequence. 3 Musketeers, then Twenty Years Later. Now the Man in the Iron Mask while being part of the Musketeer trilogy is actually the 3rd part of The Vicomte de Bragelonne which was over 2,000 pages long so was broken into 3 books, Vicomte being the first, Louise de la Valliere and then finally Iron Mask, so I would recommend reading the first 2 (Vicomte, Valliere and THEN Iron Mask) as Iron Mask refers to the first two quite often and you'd have to just guess at the references. Also it was the weakest of those three and I liked it the least of them all. Primarily because of what happens to our aging heroes, not because it was poorly written. If you like adventure, romance, humor and camaraderie, you won't be disappointed. Review: A TREASURE TROVE: CAPTIVATING SWASHBUCKLING ENTERTAINMENT. - Superb translation. Dramatic, thrilling, engaging escapades. At times, hilarious. (Previously read eons ago, but poor translation made it unreadable.) Beautifully written -- freshly eloquent after nearly 200 years. Highly recommend for self, or, as a gift.

Sloppy packaging
Not sure why it didnโt come secured as shown in the photos and other reviews. The books are in mostly good condition though save for a few scuffs here and there.

Oh, if only modern novelists could The unabridged Count of Monte Cristo is just such a Superb Read!
Oh, if modern novelists could create such superb prose and action in the classical style of A. Dumas... whose exciting stories were written with such alacrity, wherein we, the readers, are cast as a witnesses to the action. Indeed, that is why they are remembered as CLASSICS for all time! Beaucoup milles bravos pour Monsieur Dumas...et encore !!! AJG, MD
