Merrell Womens Yokota 2

I am a rather odd duck in that I rotate through my shoes. So I wear these 3-4 days a week. Out of the box, I replace the factory-support with something that has more heel-cush and a higher arch. I have yet to meet a factory-insert that can last more than a day before I'm ripping it out and cursing the idiots for even bothering to put such crap into the shoe. hell...just don't.. just say 'our inserts are crap - so we'll charge you less if you put your own in'. I would be fine with that. ;) Anyway - this is my third pair of these Merrell Womens Yokota 2 shoes. First pair I ordered my usual 8.5 size and they were lovely and I literally wore the treads off them in hmmm 4 years. Unfortunately, this type of shoe cannot be repaired. Believe me, I tried. lol Soooo I searched the net using the model # on the tongue of the shoe and found a second pair. The second pair (not from amazon) ran just slightly small. Not so much that I would need to return them. That pair did not last as long, almost 2 years when I dropped an egg and ... ahh yeah ... *splat* across the leather and mesh. Raw egg is not something you want soaking into the leather or mesh or cloth of a shoe. I couldn't get all the egg out of the mesh by hand and resorted to the one thing you should never do to leather, *gasp* you guessed it, I put them through the washer. Now, to be fair, they held up incredibly well to being washed... not only did the mesh survive but the leather survived perfectly fine. With a little conditioning, the leather was lovely and new. BUT the soles curled just enough that the shoes (slightly to small to begin with) now rubbed against the ends of my toes so to small and annoying. Which was a shame because they were only a couple years old and still had a nice amount of tread. Third pair - I found on Amazon and ordered half a size up. I am not sure why the original 8.5 fit perfectly but second of the same size was smaller. Third pair (half a size up - 9) fits perfectly. Now I just have to avoid wearing them while making eggs...

I’m a big Merrell fan, because they fit my skinny sensitive feet. I purchased my Yokota 2 Hiking shoes about three years ago. I primarily wear them when I walk on pavement and paved trails in Tucson on cool winter mornings. I usually wear Merrell or Ecco sandals throughout the summer. However, I made a trip to Colorado and knew the trails I’d be walking there wouldn’t be paved. I found the Yokota 2 to work well both on and off the trails and through the fields. My feet were cool and comfortable throughout. I was very surprised that my toes stayed toasty while sitting after dark at a festival where temps dropped into the low 50s.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these shoes! The color is awesome and the shoes are comfortable. This is my second pair in a different color. I have dark charcoal with aqua green accents and they’re a 6.5 I bought these orange ones in a 7 because my toes are jammed a little in the 6.5 so I am saying they run a little small but I will wear them both. The quality of the shoe is great. They hold up when stomping through puddles and they offer great support. However, I wear a size 10 and my toes hit the very front of a size 10 in Merrell. They are comfortable for about 3 hours before my feet hurt. I would suggest getting a half size larger or a whole size just to make sure you have enough room in the toe box.

I waited to write this review because I wanted to make sure I used the shoes in all possible scenarios before I passed judgment, or shared an opinion that might alter whether someone purchases a pair of these or not. I am getting on in age and have a severe spine injury that required a lot of surgery, and permanent disability. But I have dogs and they needed walking so I needed a pair of shoes that could withstand all types of weather, rain, wet grass from the morning dew, puddles, mud, etc.; I also needed them to have solid support and be priced reasonably. I picked these after a lot of reading and I am very happy I did. Even through the worst of storms and puddles and walking through wet grass my feet have always remained dry. I did put extra soft inserts in them (I bought a size up based on what others said and the inserts helped balance out whatever additional room was left in them); AND I got the grey ones for less money. They are not the prettiest shoes but hey, my dogs think I'm the best and don't seem to care what I wear so...since they were going to get dirty anyway I had nothing to lose. If you need a quality shoe that will keep your feet dry these are them. Buy a size up, use some soft foam inserts, and walk on by.

Look good but run large and wide. Not much cush or support. Felt sloppy and I have had 3 other Merrell shoes/ boots with incredible fit. I went to a Merrell waterproof boot and gave these to the church box.

Great shoe - but very hard to break in . True to size

These shoes are solid. I have a neurological problem in my legs and feet and lose my balance. These shoes have worked well for me. I bought them because I was diagnosed with foot drop. I like the upward toe that fixed the stub your toe falls. The soles provide a solid base and the shape of the shoe and ties make a snug fit. I appreciate the slip resistance, great traction! They are bulky in my opinion but meets my need for safety. I went up a size “just in case” and well pleased with my purchase. PS I am 80 years old.

Son una excelente opción, cómodos, resistentes, los puntos a favor la suela es suave, firme pero no rígida que permite caminar sin cansarse, el material te permite transpirar, mantiene frescos, tiene arreglos internos, arco interno, externo que ayuda al descanso, tienen una capa protectora impermeables para salpicaduras, lo recomiendo ampliamente.

I'm very overweight and sometimes have a hard time buying shoes that fit properly. I usually take a size 9.5 for shoes and in boots I take a size 10, I chose size 10 for these hiking shoes and they fit perfect so I would suggest that anyone should go up half a size. The reason I mentioned being overweight is because the tongue of the shoes are sometimes so skinny that they do not cover the front part of the ankle well and the fit can look very sloppy. For me these shoes fit perfectly and they are extremely comfortable. I'm also accustomed to going barefoot or wearing barefoot shoes so my feet are wider and these shoes were still very accommodating. Due to the flexible material used my feet feel snug but not squished. I have not yet used the shoes for hiking or walking, they just got to the door now and I tried them on so I will update if needed, but so far I'm pretty excited to take them out for a try.
