Arrived. Oil leaked, I will keep. Just have to wipe the bottle down. Still trying to figure out how to use. Instructions not easy to understand. Very vague.

Works fine. RI oil, LEAKED!
The meter works fine. They need to wrap, seal, or simply put the oil bottle in a baggie. All the RI oil leaked, and has made the box unuseable! It stinks SO BAD, I had to throw it out. Still waiting for the extra oil so I can use it. There was just enough oil left, to read 4 stones, confirming it works. It does not feature the built in Polriscope. No worry for me, as I have a benchtop Polariscope. If you need that feature, it's going to add $80.00 to the price.

No real instructions, hand drawn "assembly guide". No ri guide. Cheap bottle. Leaking oil that contaminated the oil. Not supposed to have hard crunchy bits in RI oil....

I believe this refractometer might work well with loose stones but is completely ineffective on jewelery mounted gemstones. Description should indicate effective only on loose gemstones
