DTECH Powered 4 Way 3 RCA Splitter Box 1 in 4 Out Composite Video Audio Distribution Duplicator with Power Adapter Compatible with Gaming Console to TV Projector Video Capture Card

I'm using the DTECH 4 Way Distribution Amp for Audio only, so I can't comment on the Video quality (in fact I'm only using 2 of the 4 Audio Outputs). It's a simple device and I really like the fact that there is no remote control or switching function, all 4 outputs are just "always on" ! The Audio quality seems more than adequate for my Analog "Home Theater" system (no noise and no problems with frequency response). My video is HDMI into my Smart TV, so I have no need for the Video function. As at least one other reviewer mentioned, the Red power LED is VERY bright ! (It was bright enough to be annoying and I was able to "fix" this problem fairly easily...read below if you're interested in that, as well as some other technical observations). The unit is very well constructed, and it's easy to open up (4 screws to remove the cover). Note: I removed the 6 screws on the rear panel so I could look at the bottom side of the circuit board, but there are NO Components on the bottom side. Nothing to see here ! I clipped one of the leads on the LED and inserted a resistor (I chose the value with the assistance of a resistor substitution box). I chose 33K ohm but any value between 10K and 33K should dim the overly bright LED to a reasonable level. Other observations: >The 9VDC power supply was right on @9.0VDC. Polarity is Center +, which is marked on the supply itself, but NOT on the case, so I labeled the rear of the case accordingly (important if the supply is ever replaced). >There are 11 electrolytic capacitors, which are all rated at 16VDC. As this is a fairly inexpensive device, I was expecting 10VDC rated caps, so this was a pleasant surprise. >No Integrated Circuits, just 8 small surface mount transistors, 4 of which are buffer/drivers for the 4 Video outputs. Two of the remaining 4 transistors appear to be for buffering the Audio L/R input signals. As I did not trace out the entire circuit, I'm guessing the other 2 transistors are probably either common drivers for all 8 (L/R) Audio Outputs, or, buffers for the video input ??? >There does not appear to be any reverse polarity protection on the power supply input (nor any OverVoltage or OverCurrent protection). I guess I shouldn't expect that at this price point ? In any case, make sure any replacement power supplies have the correct voltage rating and polarity. Hopefully I won't have any problems due to a faulty power supply or voltage spikes 😏 All in all, at this price, I'm happy with my purchse !

This DTECH 1 in/4 out splitter was easy to connect and works as it should. This is a replacement for a different brand of what looks like a near identical product. The difference with this one is that it works with no noticeable audio or visual interference. The last one I bought with a different brand/seller (and plan to return) had a loud audio hum when the input was connected. This one works fine. The interesting thing is that the prior splitter box appeared to be slightly better constructed (has nice feet and a more easily manipulated power cable) yet this DTECH box works much better. I compared the technical specs of both boxes and they are the same. I took one star off because it does not have feet on it to balance it thus it tips a little but this does not hamper performance. Also, the red power light is rather bright but I was able to stick it behind the tv so it's not noticeable. I am happy with this product and would buy this product again. Also of note, the video actually seems to be clearer going through this box than straight to the tv. I don't think there is any amplification so I can't explain that but it looks and sounds very good.

I recently upgraded my cable tv to fiber optic, which broadcasts in my home over wifi from my router. No more coaxial cable. My TV is old technology, so they hooked me up using an AV to RCA cable from the wifi receiver to the TV. I also needed the cable signal to go to my VHS/DVD player/recorder, but the new equipment required a different hookup scenario from my prior coaxial cable hookup. I bought this RCA splitter box, and it splits the signal from the wifi receiver to the tv and to the video player/recorder. Works perfectly. No degradation of either video or audio to either device.

Needed a splitter that wasn't going to split my wallet in half. Works perfect to finish a jerry rigged 4.2 system. Makes for a killer polarized junction box if you want to plug the right side speakers into 2 red ports. Only downside is there is no off button, but if you are handy with with electronics you can easily introduce a switch and fuse along the generous length of cord, or of course just unplug it. On the topic of signal degradation, we will have to wait for a guy with an oscilloscope to get his hands on this, but in terms of sound, it does its job like any splitter cable would. It does require power to actuate the transistors which is a bummer, but its probably for the best as the diodes do their job blocking noise interference coming from the output, so long are the days of scratching sounds when the connectors are touching with a splitter. Awesome product, and I hope these stay around as there are some crazy priced rca splitter boxes and arbitrary switching boxes online that wont do what this thing can. Like cmon, us people with internal amp speakers need to have fun without a receiver too.

Easy splitter to use. Video quality is just fine. Nice connections and feels solid.

If you still have older video equipment this can be useful. I used this on an old VCR that only had one output. I used this so that I could send the output to a small monitor and to the input of a special effects video mixer/switcher at the same time. These analog audio/video devices enable one output source to drive four input devices without degrading the video.

I used this to set up a CRT tv wall with multiple screens and video game consoles, the input is a unit selector and then this device sends out the signal to multiple tv’s. Works great with one catch, one of my devices is a Hyperkin RetroN 3 HD Console for NES SNES Super Famicom & Genesis and when I’m sending the signal out it displays fine on all the TVs but one, an old Pulsar CRT from Canadian tire displays the signal in B&W not colour. Just that console, just that TV. Actually looks pretty cool but just an odd thing when pairing up this splitter and that particular old TV from the 80s. Good product.
