Well worth it ๐๐๐
I went to write an update, then realized I never gave an initial review! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I give and switch out activities for my cat often, as he โจdemandsโจ almost constant stimulation. And while most of that involves me/my interaction, I REALLY appreciate the activities that can keep him engaged and stimulated on his own (at least for brief periods of time). I bought this about 10 months ago, and it was one of the first puzzle toys I purchased for my cat. That being said, it is the ONLY one still being used!! He figured it out rather quickly (heโs too smart for his own good), and I put it away for a few months. I recently got it back out, and just threw in some toys, for added obstacles, to make it a little more challenging for him! And while itโs still one of his โeasierโ puzzle toys, it is also my favorite! PROS: -the suction is amazing! My cat will walk all over it, aggressively swat at it, and it doesnโt move; it always stays in place! It also comes off super easy when I go to put it away, and it has never left any weird or sticky residue! -it doesnโt take up that much room for storage -thereโs interchangeable parts so I donโt feel like Iโm giving him the same puzzle over and over again (plus adding in extra toys/obstacles helps too)! -itโs easy to assemble/disassemble/and clean -it keeps my cat entertained, and he has enjoyed it with the same enthusiasm for almost a year now -if your cat is a bit on the lazier side, I think this is PERFECT puzzle toy for them! Itโs clear so they can see the treats theyโre working for and thereโs multiple openings so it doesnโt feel impossible for them! CONS: -if your cat is on the smarter sideโฆ I STILL recommend purchasing because we both know it can feel like your cat can just never get enough stimulation right? And when you donโt stimulate them, they find theyโre own stimulation and thatโs usually worseโฆ this is such an easy, and convenient, and sturdy option to have in your back pocket, to whip out when you just need 5-15 minutes of PEACEโฆ I would just unfortunately also recommend getting some toys to go along with it, to increase the difficulty for them (the slightly bigger stuffed toys <like the taco in my picture> seem to work the best, because you can kind of wedge them in more, and they usually have catnip in them as well, so win win) For Customer Service/Support: -I wanted to include a video as well but it kept telling me there was an issue and to try again later. I tried a few times, with a few different videos/file sizes, but it kept giving me the same message.

Get it!! Loved by active and lazy elderly cats alike!
I have a very VERY active young cat (was a kitten when I got this, still a ball of energy now) that absolutely loves to get into anything and everything. I also have a sweet elderly cat that isn't interested in most toys (would rather bat at something once and call it a day). Both of them love this treat maze! I've had this for roughly two years now and it still remains a favorite for both of them!! I only use it for putting treats in and not having it out all the time to keep it more special. They both seem equally engaged with it, it isn't too hard to fit paws in for my elder cat with arthritis, and it holds up to the chunky young adult (12ish pounds) that likes to play aggressively with his toys. He can drag it halfway across the room and the top doesn't come off. In fact, usually it stays mostly in place, it will move a little bit especially when they're both working on the same side, but unless he's going all out it'll stay in the general area I put it. If it was just my elder cat, I'm sure it would stay where I put it down. I have also accidentally kicked it a couple times and absolutely nothing happens to it. The quality of it is great. I love that I can customize the inside maze part and I think they enjoy having it change from time to time for a new challenge. It isn't super hard for them, but also not too easy and boring. Usually they'll get the easy treats out first in just a couple minutes, and then they'll be working at the hard to get to spots for a while. It will entertain them for at least 15 minutes, sometimes up to a half hour. Literally my only downside to this is on occasion a treat gets stuck and wedged under one of the maze walls. It's not that big of a deal, easy to dig out with a hand, but the cats are not able to get a wedged treat out no matter how long they work at it. (But hey, if you want your cat to stay busy for a long while just wedge a treat haha) It cleans easy. All the maze walls can be taken out and the base is a hard plastic with the green part being a thick rubber sort of material. Some soap and water and it's all clean, no spots for treats to get lost in and attract unwanted pests. I would recommend for any cat, active or not (this is one of the few toys that my elder cat wants to play with), and as long as they like treats they'll like this. It does a wonderful job at being an interactive toy for them.

Great puzzle with small design flaws
For the "classic" puzzle: Awesome treat puzzle, the customizable obstacles are going to be great to change it up a bit to keep it engaging. A clever cat will master it quickly but it's a good challenge regardless. The two things I wish were different are: 1. The two tall arch pieces are very limited in where theu can fit, because for some reason they have a tab to stick out of the clear cover. This does not help them support the dome, so i dont see any reason for the tabs at all. I might be able to modify them by cutting off the tab to allow the arches to fit under other parts of the dome. 2. In the pictured product, all of the peg holes appear to be the same size. This is not the case in reality. There are two holes on each end that are too large to hold any of the obstacles, and also large enough that pieces of my cat's food can fall through the puzzle onto the floor, which is frustrating for the cat when she loses them. I'm planning to permanently fill or cover the large holes. Other than those two modifications i need to make, it's great. Engaging for the cat, easy to clean because it can be fully disassembled with very little effort, just has some weird design choices.

My cats love this!!
This has been a great addition for my cats. I free feed their regular food but out temptations cat food in this. They love picking out the pieces and feel like theyโre getting treats. It occupies them and makes eating more exciting for them. I e had for several months and they have not gotten bored with it. Highly recommend.

CATS LOVE IT! Would be 5**** except โฆ
My cats love this! Iโve had it for a month now and it keeps them entertained, especially the overweight cat who wants to eat all the time. I only gave it 3*** because I had to tape the cover down. Not even close to staying on. Second, they pull the arches and pegs out , (I glued them in place) 3rd, itโs really hardly an adjustable maze because of the hole alignment. Worth the money tho.

A hit for Honey
I have a rescue kitty that is part Savannah. Therefore, she has a very high prey drive and is highly intelligent, getting bored and depressed when she has nothing to stimulate her brain. I bought this for her and she LOVES it! We also have her sister, who is out of a different father. So while both have the Maine Coon from momma, sis has more Persian/HImalayan than the Savannah that Honey has. As a result, Sis prefers to just stick her nose in the bowl and eat--forget about the games! But even with a bowl down and available, Honey will go to her puzzle feeder and play with trying to get food out of it. The fact that you can rearrange/remove/add obstacles is nice as it helps to keep her thinking with new challenges occasionally. She really enjoys that and feels better with something to challenge her mentally. The whole thing is plastic and easy to clean. The lid does allow for kibble to fall down in between the walls and the lid though, so every couple of days you have to remove the lid and clean up all the old kibble that has fallen down where she cannot reach it. Maybe that is something they should rethink and come up with a different way of seating the lid to prevent kibble loss. It does stick pretty well to the tile floor, although she can move it when she pushes against it to try and get to the pieces that have fallen down between the lid and outer wall. It has never flipped over though, even when a 16 pound kitty running full tilt has lost footing on the tile floor and slid into it, knocking it a couple of feet away. Overall, it is a big hit with the kitty. She loves it and it keeps her happy, challenged, and occupied. That makes me happy, along with the easy clean up. Good price and good value for the price. If you have a smart kitty who is easily bored because they are not challenged enough, I would definitely recommend this as a try. If you have a porky pig like her sister who prefers to just stick her nose in the bowl and not come up for air until the bowl is clean, then perhaps not so much.

Perfect distraction for food thieves
EDIT: I wanted to come back and leave some more info on this review. Weโve had this puzzle for years now and it has held up amazingly. Itโs very durable. Itโs still by far the best cat food puzzle Iโve ever purchased and we use it almost daily. I recommend it regularly to all my friends and coworkers who have cats. My two kittens are absolute food fiends. weโve tried multiple food puzzles but many of them were unsuited for young cats, and the kittens injured themselves by using their muzzles to get the kibble out rather than their paws. The large plastic shell on this puzzle makes it impossible for them to access food by any route other than using their paws, which is just what I wanted. And the adjustable layout is great for young cats because you can start out easy and then ramp the difficulty up. The only downside was that the plastic shell doesnโt clip on very securely, but as you can see in the photo I was able to thread some zip ties through the bottom part and around the shell to keep it firmly attached. I have to cut off the zip ties every time I want to wash it or change the layout, but other than that it works great. Now we can eat our food in peace without our cats trying to steal bites from our plates!

Too many basic flaws with this puzzle feeder
I would recommend looking elsewhere for a good puzzle feeder. I don't have any qualms with the difficulty of the puzzle, but I agree with others that this may be a steep learning curve for most cats. This product fails to meet basic customer requirements and is definitely not worth the $27 I paid for it. If you buy this feeder, be prepared to return it or fix the flaws yourself. PROS: +Customizable puzzle CONS: -The plastic cover is not secured to the baseplate. The cover is much too big and the latch features just don't work. Especially given the narrow slots of the cover that the cat is supposed to reach in through, the cover comes off way too often. -The base is too light. In the off-chance that the cover does stays attached to the baseplate, the whole thing can be lifted by my 10lb cat, scattering the treats in the puzzle. What's the point then of the rubber footing? OTHER: -I wrapped plumbers tape around the perimeter of the base to create a snug fit, but the cover still has issues catching the side grooves on the baseplate. I just decided to tape the cover to the baseplate until I need to wash everything. -To add weight, I poured concrete mix to the bottom side of the baseplate, but it may be coming apart. If so, I'll use epoxy to bond them. In conclusion, I don't understand the raving reviews for this product. Other reviews mention a previous model that might have worked better. Or maybe I just received a bad combination of cover to baseplate. However, if the manufacturing process allows for such large deviations, that is a major problem. But fine... I still gave the company the benefit of the doubt and attempted to reach out to their customer service. No email or customer service contact was provided with the shipped package, so I had to search online and reached out to the company via their website regarding my concerns, but never received a response. I think that goes to show how much this company cares about its products and customer satisfaction.

My cat is obsessed with this!
I bought this puzzle feeder for my curious indoor cat, and itโs been a total hit! The different sections keep her mentally stimulated and busy, especially the little catnip ball areaโshe goes straight for it every time. I love that it slows down her eating and gives her a challenge at the same time. The design is smart, sturdy, and easy to clean. If youโre looking for a fun way to keep your cat entertained and mentally active, this is a must-have!

Surprisingly good!
I was sent the fish by mistake and decided to set it up anyway. My two cats are absolutely enthralled. They've spent the last hour figuring out how to get every single treat from all the nooks and crannies. I thought the fish design would be too easy for them but it's not! Can't wait for the harder, classic design to arrive. The harder maze arrived and they both love that one too. Within a few days, they figured out the fish and have no trouble getting the treats. They're getting good at the harder maze now too but it still takes them a while to get every one out. One cat purrs continually while playing with these. He likes it! Update from 2.5 years later: The one cat who purred while playing with the maze passed a year ago. I finally brought the maze out again for my new cat to learn and she also purrs immediately. The odd part is they don't purr when just handed treats, only for the maze.

Love/Hate relationship with this puzzle feeder
My cats love this feeder puzzle! It's never boring since you can move the pieces around and increases/decrease the difficulty. It keeps them busy for much longer and it tires them out cause they have to really work for their food / treat. My biggest problem with this puzzle feeder however, is the base of the tray is some kind of silicone material. As my cats paw and reach for their food, they scratch the base of it and it ends up making huge claw marks and shredded green silicone all throughout it. As that makes it a great place for bacteria to live and grow, it really isn't ideal. I wash it everyday before they use it, but it's still not safe long term.
