Works Great!
I used this to power my Black Box G1W-X Dashcam an it's been working great so far. I used a fuse tap to connect this USB kit to my Honda Oddessy and ran the cable through the A pillar and across to the rear view mirror and into the camera. It's been installed for about 1 mont and working great.

Nice little kit....
Inexpensive kit that I used to wire a camera into the rear window of my Hyundai. Was an easy plug into the fuse box with an "Add a fuse" (not included). My only mistake was I ordered it with the wrong end plug (A micro-USB instead of a mini-USB). Oops. Got a converter at the electronics store downtown and was going very quickly. Has not failed to power up the camera except when I knocked the ground off when i was working on something else. Got a great vid of someone going off the road behind me a few days back. Good value and easily reached the back of the Accent with some extra wire length......

Intermittent failure after a month...TWICE
This is the second one I've bought. Both worked fine for about a month. Then intermittently, the dashcam would lose power and randomly turn on and off while driving. The dashcam works fine plugged in to a 12v cigarette lighter. It's the only micro usb 12v power cord I can find so I'm stuck with never knowing when my dashcam will be working.

Provides power as stated,
This does what it says on the tin, providing power to a micro USB device. It loses one star due to it taking at least 15 seconds before providing said power, unlike a cigarette lighter USB power adapter. The second star is lost due to the lack of 3M tape or other adhesive.

Can't tuck THAT under the headliner
Didn't pay attention until I went to install my camera using this kit.. This thing WOULD be absolutely wonderful had they not put the stupid power "filter" magnetic 6 inches before the USB connector. I ended up out this part of the cable and having to resolder the wire back together since I couldn't fit that "filter" under the headliner and didn't want that eye sore dangling down in front of my windshield. With this piece removed everything works great otherwise and it's a very affordable installation kit when used with a fuse tap. I would look for one without this piece, or just be prepared to do some soldering if you don't want it.

Works for KDLINKS X1 Dash Cam
Works great on my dash cam.. Exactly as pictured. The cord has plenty of length to run it through the dash / pillar / headliner or however you would need to run it.

Works well. Frees up the power point and looks a lot cleaner. Should have ordered it with the dash cam.

12v to 5v transformer.
Steps down auto 12v to as 5v required for powering or charging many electronic devices. Micro USB is typical connector on cell phones, dash cams, GPS etc. This inexpensive component does that. I used it to power my dash cam, mounted high on the windshield, from the wiring for a nearby 12v powered smart dipping rear view mirror. Tucks away inside the front of the roof liner. The wiring between the transformer and the USB connector is long but, I was able to hide it away.

There is a good amount of wire length to this, pretty much 10 feet, plus there is almost 2 feet with the fuse box wiring portion (the red and black wires) you could make use of. The "box" connection for the wiring is actually smaller than expected and is a good thing if you needed to hide that portion in a more cramped space (perhaps a glove box or armrest). There is an inline fuse for the device and it does contain a glass type fuse so you don't need to buy one for it. This unit works perfectly and everything is small enough to easily hide all the wiring behind weather stripping and headliners. I have it wired to be on all the time regardless of ignition setting but I take my dash cam out of the car overnight (home security cameras cover that portion) so I cannot comment on the low voltage cutoff operations. Does the job I use it for and at a great price. Definitely recommended.

It ruined my gadget. This is not safe to use. Do not sell things unless they are properly tested by manufacturers. All you need is to hardwire your electronics, then all of a sudden your expensive gadget is fried.Poor boy looses a $300 gadget because of these poor quality micro usb.

This was so so so much easier to install then what I intended to do splicing the 12volt adapter that comes with the dash cam . I didn't even run it to the fuse box I tracked my blower Motors hot wire ( only powered when ignitions on) tapped into that wire and done . Took less then 15 minutes to install and hide wire away . Literally! So camera comes on and begins to record when I start my car and shuts it self down when I turn my car off . Because there is a radio interference filter built in or what ever its called that prevents interference hums and buzzing in the back ground the recordings are clear and so is sound .

Long cable, easy to install, working great for so far after a week. The only thing i didnt like as much is the cable end is not precut and no C clip at the end of the ground cable, very minor not worth taking points off for just something to keep in mind you will need to be able to strip a tiny bit of cable jacket.
