Pork Pie Round Drum Throne Black with Black Flat Top

I've sat on folding chairs, dining room chairs, wooden stools, upholstered bar stools and pews when practicing. It was time for something with more padding and also portability when I get together with friends. So what's a guitar player to do? ... Get a Drum Throne. Ok, which Drum Throne is the one to get? ... the hunt is on ... hello Google ... hello nameless big box music shop websites. How much and what do reviewers think of them? Are the reviewers sane and serious? Wow, these things can cost that much ... these things are that crappy ... hmmm ... what to do? Let's go to the shops and try out a few ... wow, the cheap ones really suck ... they squeek and they wobble. What's that one ... a Pork Pie ... look at the cushion on that thing ... let's try it out ... oh yeah, that's nice ... this thing is solid. You want how much ...$160 ... hmm ... I'll have to sleep on this. Go home and hit the web sites again ... let's try Amazon ... they sell all kinds of stuff. Hey look, a Pork Pie in black for $99? WOW !!!!! Free Shipping too. Let's get it. Pork Pie could provide better packaging ... it's a box with the seat and the hardware just thrown in unsecured. The hardware has 2 stickers on it. "Made by an American" & "Made in Taiwan Republic of China" ... I got a chuckle out of that. Bottom line ... this Drum Throne is very comfortable and solid ... just what I wanted. How Amazon sold it to me for $60 less than everybody else, I don't know and I don't care. Hell of a deal - hell of a Drum Throne. I like it.

This is a great throne. The only complaint I have with it is after a few hours my back starts to feel it, probably due to the forming nature of the seat. The alternative is a sore arse after an hour, so I would highly recommend this throne to anyone who doesn't already have back issues.

I love this throne, so comfortable. I'd been using the same thin Tama one for well over 10 years. It served me well, and is still in the band room but wow, this Pork Pie one is almost three times as thick, very velvety plush, but firm. I'm currently not a gigging drummer for the time being so I have not taken it on the road. No complaints thus far, it's a nice, solid, well-built piece of gear.

Being a big guy I have had my share of cheaper and less sturdy drum thrones. Decided to spend the money on a better one and so far am pleased. This is my main throne for rehearsals and gigs with my acoustic kit. Haven't yet taken the plunge to get another for my e-kit but probably will sometime. It does make a little squeak at the top from time to time but that's to be expected with metal on metal at those pressures, A little grease and that's gone.

This throne is SO comfortable. But buyer be warned, you'll never want to sit on another throne again! This is a thick cushion. I saw other reviewers complain about the height (they all say too tall!) but I didn't see that as a problem at all. While this throne is made for larger drummers than I, my 5'8" 140lb frame is extremely comfortable, and I'm satisfied in knowing that I will have this throne for a very long time.

Do yourself a favor, throw away whatever you are using for a throne, and buy a pork pie. Rock solid, comfortable, and great looking.THIS IS A TALL THRONE! If you like to hide behind the kit, are short, or play really laid back, this is not the throne for you!

Excellent drum throne, great build, sturdy, comfortable, reduce lower back pain after playing for hours, I have used other brands like Yamaha, Tama or Pearl and I highly recommend this item, great for large drummers, it's the best there is for the money, buy it!

I've had quite a few different thrones and this is by far the best I've ever used. I have two of these now and they are both great. Comfortable, solid, and easy on the back. The best throne out there, in my view.
