Ancient Civilizations Activities (Hands-on History)

Purchased this because it was highly recommended by a fellow teacher. It has engaging and truly hands on activities that bring Ancient History to life. The activities do take time and materials to prep, but I think they are more than worth it!

Great product and teaching tool would recommend for teachers

This is a great resource for social studies teachers. It can save a lot of time once you learn what all the lessons are. But it does take some time to read all the lessons and really have a visual image of how the lesson comes together. A few more pictures in this book and less text would have been really helpful. Plus the text font is very small so it is a lot of reading for the teacher. The lessons included in the book are very good and work well for grade 5-9 but they do require a lot of planning from the teacher. It’s not something you could leave behind for a sub or something you open up when you need a lesson ASAP.

I love this book! I teach 6th grade Ancient Civilizations to heterogenous classes. These books are fantastic at getting the kids interested in the content. Some of the activities are quite extensive, but I've used several of them to create activities that fit my classes. It has some really interesting ideas that are easily modified and the kids love them!

I heard about this book in an 6th grade social studies Facebook group. It was highly recommended. It has wonderful hands on lessons for each of my units.
