CyberTech® Newest Noosy 2in1 Nano Sim Card Cutter (Black) & Micro Sim Cutter for iPhone 5S 5C 5, iPhone 4, 4S and Other Phones

For me, since Sim Cutters have come out, I have used NOOSY with great success. The first one I purchased here on Amazon, I used to cut down my Standard (Mini) Sim card down to a Micro Sim card. The NOOSY did the job perfectly! However, I found that I needed to go from Micro Sim to Nano Sim as I wanted to keep my Macro Sim (cut into Nano). So I purchased this NEW NOOSY Cutter and am so glad that I did so. This cutter has TWO Slots: One for Standard Sim card to be cut into Micro Sim, the SECOND SLOT is to place your old Micro Sim card into this to cut the old Micro Sim into a Nano Sim card. You cannot place a Standard card into this to cut into Nano size, it must first be cut into Micro Sim then placed into the smaller slot and cut into Nano Sim. * This NOOSY cutter comes with: Cutter, Sandpaper Tool and Sim Card Installer/Remover Tool. The tips below I placed in my review as I want to help someone who is new at cutting a Sim card for the first time and may be somewhat uneasy. 1) If you have an older phone that has an OLDER STANDARD SIM Card (called a Mini Sim Card), then you will first need to cut it down from Standard to Micro Sim. 2) Since there are TWO different SLOTS in this cutter, look for the STANDARD SLOT (the larger one). 3) Look on the cutter’s diagram and place your Sim card into this JUST AS SHOWN. Note that the GOLD COLORED AREA should be facing you (on top) in the cutter. 4) When you CUT be sure to use BOTH HANDS AND PRESS HARD and FIRMLY so you cut your card in one cut. This cuts it cleanly. 5) After you cut the Standard Card, it will pop right out and you will then see your new Macro Sim! 6) If you need to go from Macro Sim to Nano Sim, then place the Macro Sim (GOLD SIDE UP) in just like the cutter shows you. **Press the Sim card all the way down into this area so you see the GOLD PART clear showing through the open window. 7) Cutting: When you CUT be sure to use BOTH HANDS AND PRESS HARD and FIRMLY so you cut your card in one cut. This cuts it cleanly. 8) The NEW NANO card will just fall out, however, if the cut out white part of the Sim Card does not come out, then be sure to use the enclosed tool (the Sim remover) that comes with the NOOSY CUTTER. I had to remove my White leftover edges because this did not fall out with the new Nano Sim Card. 9) You will need the OLD cutout part (the white part) and DO NOT through this away because you can snap your NANO or Micro card back into this and use it like an adapter should you go back to a phone that has this type of card. 10) To make the new Sim card's edges smoother, GENTLY use the Sandpaper Tool (comes with this cutter) to smooth out the edges of the newly cut Sim card. Since I pressed very firmly and quickly on the Micro to Nano card, I found that the edges were very, very smooth and this card did not require smoothing out the edges after I cut the card. 11) Once BOTH Sim card cutter parts of the NOOSY are clean and free from old Sim Card remains, you are good to go to cut the next Sim card.

Really nice cutter! Slip in the Mini SIM and presto out pops a Micro SIM. One caution note, prior to cutting I noticed that a very small portion of the gold contacts would be possibly cut so I trimmed away a slight portion from the OPPOSITE side so the card would "slide" over to that other edge and then I cut it. I tilted the cutter to the side I wanted it to slide to so it would expose more of the contact that would be nearest the trimmed edge, and enough was left. You don't want to trim off too much or it might be a bit smaller for the new micro slot. I only trimmed off less then a millimeter with an exacto knife. I probably did not have to do that but I wanted a little more of that contact area to be used. I slipped it in my new phone and it works! This worked effortlessly, not like some of the cheaper ones ( a few dollars less), this is like working a stapler. Fast and easy!

When it comes time to cut down a SIM card from standard SIM to micro SIM for a newer device, that uses the smaller Micro or Nano SIM format, the name that pretty much always comes up is "Noosy". Although there are a lot of SIM cutters on the market Noosy seems to have the best brand recognition. That said, it's a little difficult to decipher the naming and identity of the various Noosy products, what with the terms "First Generation", "Second Generation", "Third Generation", "New Generations" and so forth being used in the many, many listings for Noosy products that one finds on Amazon and eBay and so forth. The pictures that go with the product listings frequently make no sense either and seem to be at odds with each other. For example, I purchased a "Noosy 3rd Generation Nano SIM Card and Micro SIM Card Cutter". The product I received came in a box that looked like the Noosy box in the product photo, but the SIM cutter in the box did not resemble the model shown in the listing. The box had no mention of what model was inside. The cutter itself had no brand or model name markings. Had I received the wrong thing, had there been an upgrade, was there really any difference between the variously named models? Hard to tell. In any case, the "Noosy 3rd Generation Nano SIM Card and Micro SIM Card Cutter" I received was solidly built, had cleanly marked slots for each size SIM card size, with icons showing the correct orientation, and worked cleanly and without any problems. Despite the many reviews of various models that refer to the units not being built to last the one I received seemed like it would do a lifetime's worth of SIMs without a hitch. The one tip I have seen in on-line instructional videos for using these cutters, that I am glad I used, is to press your finger tip against the exposed edge of the SIM while cutting to keep the SIM fully inserted and aligned in the slot. Worked great for me. All in all, for the super cheap price of $10.50 from Amazon at the time of this review, this is a great product for the simple but daunting task of cutting your precious SIM down to fit a new device. If "they", the mysterious factories and marketers who churn these things out and sell them as "Noosy", could just introduce some sense and order to their naming, labeling, packaging and example photos, it might make buying the thing as stress free as using it. RECOMMENDED.

I bought this higher priced version thinking it would give me better quality cut but not really! I contacted seller and they refunded 50% back so I was at least satisfied from price perspective. The only good thing about this is that it has both micro and nano slots so more versatile. I carried this to India for vacation and found it handy with trying out normal sized SIM cards I already had from a year before with my iPhone 4S. Bottom line is that you might get along with this just fine as long as you don't mind spending a little time trimming away the burrs and finishing the cut with a blade. I cut several SIM cards and all of them came out functional - no chip was damaged.
