I was paying $100+ for biweekly neck massages until I got this home neck massager. I almost didn't buy it after reading some of the iffy reviews, but I'm glad I did. It hits all the right places and feels great on my neck. I have used it both sitting up and lying in bed. The pressure is not too deep, and it feels great. I've been using it religiously every day and my neck feels so much better, no regrets at all and I couldn't recommend more. Btw writing this with the massager on lol.

This little baby is worth every penny I bought an "open box" and saved $20 but I would pay full price if that wasn't available. My left hip flexor muscle recently threw a hissy fit and put me in major pain. This has been a godsend in loosening those tight muscles in my hip and lower back. I'd be in really tough shape if not for this unit. I'm not out of the woods yet but this is giving me major relief during my ordeal. I've been using it up and down my back and on my neck too. The shiatsu massage is intense and wonderful. I usually put it on medium. The heat is only warm, but pleasant. TBH, this muscle massage doesn't need the heat. My one negative is that it's heavier and more cumbersome than I anticipated but I don't think it would be as effective otherwise. I'm disabled so it's a struggle but it's definitely worth the effort. I highly recommend this unit. Give it a try if you have neck and/or back issues.

We’re giving this otherwise nice massager a 4 because 1) it does not have vibration as advertised, and 2) its motor is awfully loud. Listening to the constant whirring of the motor in your ears is not very relaxing. We got it because the description said it had the main three components to a good massager: kneading massage, heat, and vibration. “Choose your massage intensity from three different vibration speeds.” Maybe they consider the rumbling of the motor the vibration because unlike our other Homedics back massager, this neck massager has no dedicated vibration button or even a vibration mode via an extra push of a button. All the three buttons do are 1) heat on/off, 2) direction forward/reverse, 3) kneading high/med/low/off. The description should say three different kneading speeds. Other than the missing vibration element, the massager does feel good on the neck with the balls rolling around. And because it’s shaped for the neck and has the straps to hold on to, it stays in place better than trying to put the back massager up on the neck. We don’t know that the direction of the balls makes any difference to the quality of the massage, but it is nice to feel a different rolling pattern in each direction. Surely, it’s just user preference. Switching back and forth is an easy button press. Actually, all the buttons are easy to press and/or feel for there on the shoulder. The heat is good. The materials of the massager are also comfortable. The fact that it has a real cord to plug into the wall is a plus, however, that makes portability subjective. Sure, it’s portable from chair to couch or wherever you have a plug. But the description talks about it being used in the car or on a plane. Yeah, right. Where are you going to plug it in on a plane? Besides, it’s too big to simply tuck in a carry on. Plan on keeping it at home. It’s useful to massage other body parts as well. Just move it down in the chair and it can do the lower back, or set it on the floor to put your feet on it. Like our trusty back massager, this new one can be used in various ways. It’s now just a preference to which rolling ball pattern we want at the moment, or if we still want the vibration accompaniment. The only disappointment with either machine is when the auto-timer shuts off. It’s as sad as when the mechanical pony ride outside the grocery store finished. The good news is that we can just turn it back on and not have to beg for another quarter!

This is about 2-3 times more expensive than other generic similar over the shoulder massagers, but it is larger and more comfortable. Time will tell on how long it lasts, but so far in the past few months, it’s been very good. I highly recommend as you can move this anywhere on back of neck/shoulder/back/legs.

My wife is a Paraplegic and in a wheelchair. We have gone through 6 of these types of massagers since October. This is by far the best one... her shoulders get sore if she has to do alot of wheeling... also she gets sore after PT... This is a good one... powerful, the buttons are sturdy... and she is tough on it... but it's fantastic... spend the money and get a quality massager, the Homedics checks all the boxes.

I occasionally suffer from upper and lower neck pain, both in back and on the sides of my neck and even down a little onto the tops of my shoulders. In my opinion, this can be used for any of those locations and probably more I have never tried or needed. I searched through the reviews and specifications of many different models and decided on this one because of its versatility and the fact that it plugs directly into the wall and is not rechargeable, battery operated. I must say first that this is not in any way a pillow. Even though the unit does have a padded cover, the insides are firm and hard where the magic happens. The opposite direction rotation is a nice feature, as is the variable speeds, but the heat option in my opinion is barely noticeable, but still a nice addition. After some experimentation, I have found that for me, the best way to use it is while sitting in my high back recliner. Sitting up straight doesn't put much pressure of your neck onto the device and the further back I recline increases the pressure of my head and neck onto the device. If you have long hair, I suggest lifting it and not using this unit through your hair because it will tangle your hair into knots. This thing has some seriously strong Motors with very deep penetrating kneading motion. It is definitely a far cry from a vibrating neck pillow. Actually, if the manufacturer could add a variable speed and strength vibration to this, it would be the ultimate deep muscle kneading massager. Again, I must stress that this is not a soft tissue vibrating pillow.

I have chronic neck and shoulder pain from working at a computer all day and this massager has been really helpful. It’s easy to use, and by moving your hands slightly you can change the position of the rollers and cover more area. I even use it for my back like a message pillow and it works well. The only thing that could be better is the heater. It takes a while for it to warm up and even then I wish it would be warmer.

Tengo problemas de cuello y me provoca migraña y este masajeado me ayudó! Después de darme masaje en el cuello lo siento súper liviano y se me han quitado los dolores. También en la espalda da un gran masaje. Solo recuerda que es masaje shiatsu entonces es un poco rudo, no es de esos masajes que en realidad solo te soban

Oh WOW! This is my second time buying this massager. Won my last one and was so impressed by the powerful design of this model. It allows you to really focus on a specific pain area of your body and for as long as you want to. I use this massager to help me with pain relief in my hands and feet also. Also great for massaging your calves.

It plugs in so the battery doesn’t die. Just put it on your shoulders and adjust the speed and off you go! Masseuse without the masseuse. May be a bit hard. For older users but it felt great for my chronically tight neck muscles. A little sore the beast after but it works.
