Jonathan Green 12002 Black Beauty Sun & Shade Grass Seed Mixture, 3 Lb

I have planted every brand of seed that Home Depot and Lowe’s carries throughout the years and NONE Ivan has worked like this grass seed after learning a little bit more about the inert matter I was blown away with how much money I was wasting, but this grass seed is amazing compared to anything you’re gonna find in your big box stores and it contains no weeds. New growth happened in less than a week after making sure the soil stayed moist the whole time.

I have lived at my house for 20 years now and have always had trouble getting grass to grow in the backyard. I thought I would give this one a try since it said it was for sun and shade and recommended for my area of the US. So far I'm fairly impressed. I do have several spots that have taken off and started growing well. I'm hoping it can get a good root before the weather gets too hot and burns it out. But so far so good.

Put down scoots quick seed and nothing grew at all. Put this down and Perfect Fast Grass!!! Love It!!!

I have 1.25 acres and lots of trees. Grass was spotty in several places and with commitment to watering every day within three weeks new grass in problem spots. Great improvement

I’ve used these seeds multiple times in the past, and they always grew quickly and looked beautiful within about two weeks. However, I recently purchased another bag and planted them under the same conditions, and nothing grew this time. I’m very disappointed in the quality of this batch. Unfortunately, I can’t even apply for a refund since they require me to return the seeds I already planted; not sure how that’s supposed to work!

I watered every day in the heat of early spring and the grass came up patchy and thin. The first year it was greener and thicker than the rest of the grass (unseeded). Later in the season, I couldn't see where I had seeded and the grass didn't spread. It just mixed in the weeds. I am disappointed that it was so patchy. There were probably weed seeds in the large area I planted it in. I think the weed seeds were stronger than the grass seeds.
