Cute Story
We were introduced to the Duck&Goose series with the Duck&Goose Colors book, so when I found this one I bought it assuming this was the original. The story is really cute about how Duck & Goose meet and become friends over finding an “egg”, but it’s really a ball. This story is a bit longer so it doesn’t always grab my son’s attention for the whole book, but is only 14 months so that could be why! Haha.

So funny
I am a super fan of this book. The original Duck and Goose. The sarcasm in words and illustration creates so many parts to laugh and giggle with your little one reading together. based on understanding the humor- likely great for 5yrs plus My 3 yr old nephew likes it. Just doesn't grasp the funny parts yet.

Cute story, longer and more involved than the other D&G books
We are obsessed with all the duck & goose books around here, so don't read this review the wrong way. I love this book and highly recommend it. Just note it skews slightly older and is more of a "story" (and many more words) than the other duck and goose books we have (D&G Find A Pumpkin, D&G It's Time for Christmas, D&G How are You Feeling, D&G Goose Needs A Hug, all of which we have and my toddler has memorized by heart). Those books are all "bite sized" in terms of plot and word-count. This one is longer. Just an FYI. But we love it nonetheless!

Duck and Goose
This book was the first one my granddaughter wanted read when she got it for her birthday. The pictures are vibrant and the narrative clever. At five, my granddaughter is divided between the toddler generosity of wanting to give her toys to everyone she loves, and the possessiveness of the early grade-schooler, and this book addresses that juncture very well. Duck and goose both stumble upon a ball at the same time, and both claim it, even though they're not sure what it is. After some discussion, they decide it's an egg, and they argue over which of them should take care of it until it hatches. When they discover that it's a ball, they suddenly decide to share it, and their rivalry dissolves into friendship. Good for the pre-schooler through second-grader group.
