on the fence about grabbing this recip or the 20v version - ended up going with this recip, and have zero regrets. I have sawed from wood to steel without effort. super sturdy, compact and tons of power. I have the 3ah and 5ah batteries and runs phenomenal with either.

Great small and light

I wanted a one handed saw for trimming tree branches and thicker parts shrubs, this saw did not disappoint. Is it the right tool for the job? Well it certainly depends on the job, but for I wanted it for it works great. I have other types of saws, but this will also come in handy when I need to cut metal, and a chainsaw would not be appropriate or safe for most of the cutting I wanted to do. I'm really surprised by the power of this, even though it's only 12V, and especially even though I was only using the 2ah batteries that come with the 12V Dewalt screwdriver I have. I was cutting up some brush and branches for a good 20 minutes and the battery was still half full. The wood blade it comes with will go through 1" diameter branches like butter, but the blade can start to bind with thicker branches, especially if you can't hold them still because the saw's energy just gets transferred to the branch, shaking it back and forth. Hold the branch still and bend the cut open and you'll go right through it.

I use this mainly for PVC in the pool business. Lightweight, easy to handle, and works well in tight spaces. Power is decent for a 12V saw. Not heavy-duty, but very convenient for work.

Very disappointed! I need to use this saw in an emergency, but this saw does not use the same batteries as my many other DeWalt tools. My wife bought me this DeWalt reciprocating saw for Christmas. And now it is too late to return and replace it.

I love this thing. I use it all of the time. This is my second one. I use it for cutting drywall mostly. My first one lasted for 4 years probably stopped from all the drywall dust. Worth it, cuts great even on wood. Light weight and easier to carry around then the full size. Battery lasts quite a while even with 12v

Another great Dewalt tool, I'm using it to cut small logs for my firepit.

Use it every day cutting pipe, studs and holes in drywall when they bury my plumbing in the walls. Just got a new one after my old one (the same saw) burnt out after about 5 years of absolute abuse. Better than Milwaukee
