Can these help you grow plants?

Yes. If you want the full exact spectrum of the Sun just install it without the white opaque cover at the bottom.

Other than the roof dome being clear or opaque, can anyone tell me the difference between the Model# 10KBPP and the 10KPBPSS?

I called Natural Light Energy Systems nltubular.com with questions, they are very helpful. I asked that question and was told the 10KBP had the prismatic lens on the ceiling to scatter the light. The SS has a soft white lens. They did not say anything about a difference in the dome on the roof, as per clear and translucent.
