A Tank on Drawer Slides
This thing is built like a tank. It has thicker steel than many full-sized gun safes, and is far superior to the big box hi-tech, made in China biometric kind-of-works-sometimes battery-powered "safes." The included Simplex lock instructions are superb, and are easier to follow than the Fort Knox hand gun safe I used to have. I am incorporating this safe into some custom made nightstand furniture that will hide it sufficiently. The size is somewhat smaller than you might expect, especially the top-to-bottom depth, so be aware this is for a small to normal sized pistol, plus maybe one or two mags, max. No magnum hand cannons or lots of extra ammo is going to fit in here. The drawer slides are top notch quality. The Simplex lock/reset/unlock knob has a stiffer break-point across these functions than the Fort Knox safe I had, but I think both locks are made in 'Mericuh. The only negatives I can cite are: no instructions on mounting the safe. If you want to use all four bolt holes on the top or bottom, the drawer needs to come out. Nothing is written on how to do this, although you can figure it out by fiddling with the slide locking mechanisms. Also, the 'AmSec" badge was glued on crooked - not a big deal, but not indicative of the top-notch safe this is. The outer spot weld that holds the drawer handle on is big and globbed-on and off-center. If you get this, or any handgun safe, please do the following: change the default factory combo, and bolt/cable/lock it down. I did neither with my first Fort Knox safe, and it got walked away by a 30-second burglary carried out by an opportunistic thieving cockroach.

Be sure of size, I think it was too small.

Best bedside safe you can buy.
I mounted this to the underside of my nightstand with 4 anchor bolts. It is rock solid. The purely mechanical locking mechanism is great too. I had a previous electronic lock safe and the battery died. I had to disassemble it to get it to work right again because the lock stopped rotating half way. That is not an issue with a mechanical lock. The only complaint I have is it did not come with the combination to open the safe initially. I had to search the internet for the default combination. I would recommend buying this if you want a quickly accessible bedside safe that will keep both children and criminals out.

Check if yours opens when upside down.
SMH. I was looking it over and discovered that it will open right up, when locked, when upside down. Loose tolerances on the bolt? I don't know. I guess it could be considered a feature, in case you forget the combination. Everything else seems great - default combination works, it's much heavier feeling than expected, but for my purposes the cheap generic "hotel safe" would be more secure.

Very sturdy build mechanical single handgun safe
As described by manufacturer. Thick (3/16), heavy build safe. Ready to be bolted on or under cabinet, desk or bed. Mechanical lock inside extra protected against puncture. No battery needed. Drawer sliding mechanism works smooth. Easy to set (change) code combination. Cons is Prime shipping, from purchase to delivery it take 11 days. Overall recommended, not only for handgun, but any valuable small items you may have.

Soild
I debated between this safe and teh V-line but in the end I chose this model because the V-line locjk does not have a anti-punch out for the buttons. V-line couldn't even be bothered to respond to my request so I went with a product with better customer support.
