Get what you pay for
I tried a couple of the cheap Chinese replacement needles & returned them because they distorted certain sounds, like the "s" sounds in particular when I played some records. They claim to be diamond elliptical styli, so I don't know what the problem is. After using 2 of them on a fairly new record, I was beginning to think there was something wrong with the cartridge itself, but cartridges last for about 5,000 plays. When I attached the real deal Audio Technica stylus, it worked perfectly. No distorted sound. Spend the money for the real AT stylus.

A very good choice vs the original pickup on my Technics turntable SL-BD22B, buy this one not the cheaper copes no-name cartridges och Chinese sites because they are really bad not even working!

Good stylus
I bought three of these in last year because I thought they’d deteriorated. Despite using duster before every play and using a stylus brush, they didn’t seem to last long. One time the stylus skated across any record I tried to play. I thought it was new stylus time, but then inspected it with a magnifying glass and there was fluff on it. It took quite a bit of careful brushing with the stylus brush but eventually cleared. After that it sounded amazing again.
