Beautiful Color and Easy to Use
I’m very happy with this hair color. The color came out vibrant and looked very close to the pictures. It was easy to apply, had a pleasant scent, and left my hair feeling soft instead of dry. The color lasted well and faded evenly over time. I received several compliments after using it. I would definitely purchase this product again and recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, bold hair color. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great lasting semi permanent red
Thai has been by far the best and lastest longing Mei permanent red I've used and I've about tried all the trendy and popular brands and even a few off ones. This color starts out pretty dark almost a blood aurburn but after 2 washes it's a deep cranberry red and as it fades becomes a blood red. It's so pretty at each stage of the washing and is fading and I really recommend for anyone who wants a deep red burgundy color. It does stain your hands and your pillow, and please do yourself a favor and wash in the sink the first few times with gloves because it will stay on your hands fora few days. Also if you sweat it can leave a little stain on the side of the face but if you use a little conditioner around those areas it helps a lot and does come off after a little scrubbing.

A true vivid green devoid of yellow or blue tones
Long overdue review, since I’ve been using Lunar Tides (Juniper Green) on and off since 2020. I can only speak to that specific color, but it’s the ONLY green I’ve ever been happy with. Every other green dye I’ve used has either too much yellow (leaning towards neon) or too much blue (leaning towards ocean green or turquoise). This is a true forest green. I have naturally black hair with the front part bleached to a darker blonde and I apply this dye to my entire head (because I’m lazy lol). The bleached hair grabs the color well (starts out deep dark green and fades to a vivid green). I even find that it makes my black hair glossy and rich/darker, so no need to apply jet black or blue black to it. I can’t speak to what it does with natural blondes or very platinum blonde bleach hair but for dark haired gals that want to limit damage and only slightly bleach their hair in prep for dye, this color is vivid and locks in.

Some Absolute Hits, One Total Miss — My Honest Take on 5 Lunar Tides Shades
I’m always trying different semi-permanent hair colors because apparently I enjoy turning my bathroom into a low-budget chemistry lab. Lunar Tides had been on my radar for a while, mostly because their color range is fun and a little less boring than the usual options. I ended up trying five shades: Coral Pink, Lychee Pink, Nightshade, Neon Guava, and Magic Salem. Overall, I’d give the brand 4 stars because when they get it right, they really get it right. But one of these shades absolutely did not understand the assignment. First, the stars of the group: Coral Pink, Lychee Pink, and Neon Guava. All three of these were 5-star shades for me. They looked vibrant, held up well, and didn’t fade into anything ugly or sad. When they did start to fade, they turned into soft pastel versions of themselves, which I actually loved. That’s the dream with colorful hair dye. Nobody wants to spend all that time coloring their hair just for it to fade into “mystery swamp water.” Out of those three, Neon Guava was probably my favorite. It’s such a fun, juicy orange-pink shade that somehow manages to look both bright and wearable. It’s one of those colors that just makes you happy to look at. That said, with Coral Pink, Lychee Pink, and Neon Guava, I really think your hair needs to be lifted to a very light icy blonde if you want the color to show up the way it does in the jar or swatches. The first time I tried them over a more golden blonde, the result was a little muddier than I wanted. Not terrible, but definitely not the clean bright tone I was hoping for. Next up: Nightshade (which is now called Dark Purple). I’d give this one 4 stars. It’s a gorgeous, rich eggplant purple when your hair is light enough, and it looks really striking when it first goes on. Again though, this shade also works best on very light blonde hair if you want that deep, saturated purple effect. On golden blonde or darker hair, it still looks nice, but it comes out more muted and less rich. My only real issue with this one is the fade. Instead of fading into a softer purple, mine started pulling more blue over time, which wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t my favorite fade path either. And then we have Magic Salem. Whew. This one gets 1 star from me, and honestly I wanted to love it the most. The concept sounds amazing. A black-to-violet kind of tone with little bits of mica shimmer? On paper, that should have been the cool mysterious goth dream shade. In reality, no matter how light I got my hair, it kept turning into this muddy mauve-purple that never looked the way I wanted. And instead of fading nicely, it faded fast into a dusty, washed-out purple within just 1–2 washes. To make things worse, it was somehow also the hardest one to remove, which feels a little rude considering how bad it looked once it started fading. So overall, Lunar Tides is a bit of a mixed bag, but the good shades are genuinely really good. At around $13 per 4 oz jar, I think the value is decent, especially since some of these colors performed better than pricier options I’ve tried. My ranking would be: Neon Guava – favorite Coral Pink – excellent Lychee Pink – excellent Nightshade/Dark Purple – beautiful, but fades bluer than I’d like Magic Salem – absolutely not, straight to jail If you’re looking at Lunar Tides, I’d absolutely recommend some of their brighter pink and coral tones. Just make sure your hair is light enough first, because these colors really do look best on a pale blonde base.

Hard to know what color you'll get
I left my expectations open, thinking, well, I can always bleach it out if I hate it. What I did: Bleach, toner, test strip, color Picture #1 is my hair at starting point: naturally reddish hair, bleached, with an overlay of semi-permanent Clairol Color Gloss-up Rose Gold plus some streaks of Jazzing Bold Gold, done about 6 week earlier. I bleached it, I toned it. Picture #2 is what it looked like after toning, so that was the starting point for the color. I did a test strip of the color, but didn't put much on or leave it on very long. It wasn't very dark. Then I put Smokey Mauve over my whole head. Picture #3 is what my hair looked like after leaving the color on for over an hour. My hair took up so much color that almost no color came off when I rinsed it. As you can see, my hair is pretty short, but there was plenty of dye; I even had some left over. So, is this mauve? Purple-ish? Anything I was expecting? Noooo. I'm going to leave it this way for a while. It's way darker than any color I've ever had, but it's basically a pretty color. So who knows what color you'll get? It will probably be a surprise.

Amazing Hair dye!
This hair dye is magic!! I don't know what they put in it, but my daughter has been using Arctic Fox for over a year now, but it always fades so fast and seems to dry out her ends. Not only is this dye vibrant and longer lasting, but it has absolutely transformed her hair. It is soft and silky and looks really healthy now. 💜

Oh this is going to be controversial, sorry IA
Alright so, I am a quick shopper even online, I’ll check reviews and pictures and maybe check out a YouTube video to see a better view of the color. I however didn’t notice it was vegan, I tend to avoid vegan products because simply I have not found any that meet my expectations for what I need or expect. I understand if it’s a lifestyle/ethical choice, more power to you, live your truth: but me personally, this brand now added to the list along with arctic fox are thumbs down for me. Arctic fox bleeds non stop everywhere, seems to permanently dye anything but your hair, and washes out in about 3 washes. Now with this product Pros: -it did not stain my skin, that was cool -it’s pretty thick so I did not make any kind of mess apply it, again cool -if you want like a fun little change for about a week, this is perfect because it washes out quick. -it didn’t bleed onto my clothes or bedding, or skin when washing my hair But that’s where the pros end Cons: - I couldn’t grip the seal so I used a safety pin to help me get an end up, some of the product came out on the safety pin and I saw even though it was thick, for hair color it’s fairly translucent. Red flag if you are experienced in regularly dying your hair 😩 if you want a lighter version or very temporary color it would be ideal, but for vibrance and hang time NOPE. -just when I rinsed it out, COLD WATER, and used no shampoo I could tell it was going to wash out quick, and I was right, it lasted about 3 washes total, pretty much gone after the 2nd wash honestly. My hair is not over processed or anything that would contribute to loss of color at that rate. I even use baby shampoo since it’s no harsh chemicals and honestly has helped preserve my colors better than any “color saving” products on the market. Another thing I didn’t favor was it didn’t stick to my freshly bleached roots. Again experienced hair artists know that usually will be the brightest spot, as well as bleaching helping seal color in if you do it correctly in a time period. So PRETTY MUCH if you want something temporary, or you’re wanting to test drive a color but not ready to commit; this is perfect. However if you’re looking for something that is long lasting, this is not it. May be a basic bih but I’ve been doing this for 17 years and have tried dozens of dye products and ion color brilliance I personally don’t feel can be beat. Extremely vibrant color, very minimal bleeding/transfer after coloring and even that just depends on the color, you may not get any bleeding or transfer at all. It also lasts a long time, as well as fades evenly so you won’t have splotchy hair as it fades, you’ll just go through lighter shades of Itself.

Dark Hair Beware!
30 minute minimum is beautiful on LIGHT hair. However, if you have dark hair, I highly suggest you lighten it or keep it in for at least an hour, because it will get muddy and/or not hold well. My hair had parts that were still light from bleach, but also still stained red from a previous dye. As well, my roots had grown in a good bit (my natural color is a medium ashy brown). Yes I know, not smart and I should’ve lightened all of it to one level, but that’s an issue for another time. This dye DOES NOT LOOK how the package makes it look in dark hair, and to get a decent green, it needs to sit for much longer. I will be doing this again next week, because the parts that held up well are the most gorgeous green I have ever seen

Egal welche Farbe...
