works well for deeper ponds with uneven bottoms
These are pretty cool. I don't have much flat surface to work with in the living pond I maintain, so these proved surprisingly helpful since they conform to the bottom of the pond, or the rocks in the pond which support all the plants at various elevations. I made sure to keep 4 inches of freeboard above the soil level. The trickiest part is placing the filled planter in the pond because at some point critical mass is reached and the pond will flood into a corner of the basket and it all becomes very heavy and chaotic for a moment. Just brace yourself and you'll get through that part fine and have a great underwater planting container. Recommend measuring your square footage available, the 18" planters are really generously sized. I was able to plant 20 baby lotus in each.

Great planter for pond plants
This is a great pot for pond and bog plants. The plants seem to really like them. These are about 2 gallons, so are slightly smaller than other fabric pond planters on the market and are a great size. I like the handles on the sides which make it easier to place the pots into the pond, move them, and retrieve them. As a matter of fact, I bought a second set after I had used all of the first set. This planter is a winner!

With the right plant these are a great option
Bought these hoping they would be easier to place in my small pond than a traditional pot. I have a horsetail grass in one and a tall papyrus in the other. I love that they blend visually with the black liner and they do 'hug' the side of the pond shelf better than a plastic pot. The downside is that they are floppy, and don't do much to help support the plant structurally. We've tried filling around the root ball with rocks and growing medium but that poor papyrus is winning and continues to tip and pop himself out of the liner. If you have something stocky and stable these are a great option. If you need something to help support and stabilize a taller plant you might want to look for an alternative. As far as the actual product goes these are a nice, thick fabric without a chemical feel or smell. I didn't hesitate to use them with my fish.

These work perfectly for irregular spaces like a waterfall.
I planted small Black Taro plants in these planters. They're tucked into corners of a Koi pond waterfall and they work much better than pottery does because they mold into the irregularly shaped space. Water passes into the pot to keep the soil wet without releasing the dirt/soil into the water. I'm using regular dirt, not special aquatic planting mix. They're heavy duty woven plastic and they work well so far, but I'm concerned about possible deterioration from the sun's UV over time. I now intend to purchase larger ones, if they're available.

Needs handles
Pretty expensive for what amounts to a cheap tote bag. It does drain well. No handles unless you buy the "heavy duty" version. Aquascape spends a lot of effort on their PR, and it would be fine if the products felt like value for money. In this case it does the job, and the price is OK, but little things like not having handles feels like corners have been cut.

Best aquatic planter for lily that is easy to carry
I have never planted a water lily before but I decided to get something that I can drop into the water pretty easily. There were other options but this one fit my bare root plant and would hold up to having rocks in it. I used the the aquascape lily plant medium and then used pea gravel on top. It was incredibly easy to carry it outside, so long as you can lift that much weight and it was also easy to drop into the water so long as you follow the instructions. The soil will rise out if you don't cover in pea gravel, and if you do not tilt it while submerging you will run into problems. The lily has been planted in our pond feature since April and it is doing well my only complaint would be that to just remember if you want to use the adjustable drawstring, to plan accordingly. I had to add more rocks and undo the draw string in the end because i wanted the rocks exposed. Otherwise, I'm glad I purchased this and I fully intend to use the second one when I plant a lily in my second pond feature.

Nice planters!
This was my first time using fabric planters. I needed them for conforming to tight and odd shaped areas in my pond. They worked great. I have narrowleaf cattails and hostas planted in them. I’m very happy with them.

Missing drawstring
No drawstring in my packages.

Really good. I’d previously ordered the rigid plastic submersible aquatic plant pots however my pond has a sump which meant that the top of the pots stuck up above the water which spoiled the effect. These fabric containers mould themselves to the bottom so they can’t be seen . The weave allows the plants ( Lillies) to absorb water and nutrients and there is a handy drawstring to hold the compost and gravel to remain in these containers so it doesn’t cloud the water. Lillies are thriving so all good.

Survived a full year in my pond now and no sign of any wear. Flexibleness of the material over a pot makes it easier to place in a shaped pond and seem more stable, water iris didn't fall over last year

The large of the 2 has a draw string which is great to reduce clouding of the pond. They would benefit from handles as once full very hard to lift into a deeper pond
