Sennheiser Replacement Earpads for HD 800 (1 Pair)

I've owned a pair of HD800S for 4 years now and it was way overdue for an earcup change. These are expensive but it's the price we pay to use premium headphones. I don't feel the price is too outrageous considering they use Alcantara, and I'd also rather stick to OEM cups to maintain the sound signature. Anyways, these were extremely easy to install. What you need to do is align the new earcup with the driver and put the headphones (earcup down) onto a solid flat surface (eg. desk) - check out my picture to see what I mean. Press along the edges of the frame, avoiding the driver itself, and you'll hear the earcups snap into place immediately. I barely had to exert any effort at all. I'm not exaggerating when I say it took me only a few minutes to do it! Don't stress - buy these and refresh your Sennheisers!

Replaced my original stock pads. Sounds like back when I first got my HD 800 (non-S). Actual stock pads, not fake. Highly recommend if you want the original signature and no coloration or alteration in the famous soundstage these headphones are known for.

These replaced the ear pads on my HD800S after having used them for about three years. The good is that they feel exactly like the pads that came with my headphones when they were new. The comfort is identical and I do not notice any change in the sound signature. The bad is how overpriced these are and how arduous their installation was. If you want the official Sennheiser earpads, there isn't much you can do about the price. Installing them wasn't complicated but required an astonishing amount of pressure to properly attach the ear pads to the frame. If I hadn't already watched a YouTube video that mentioned this fact, I wouldn't have dared to press so hard on the headphones for fear of damaging them. If you don't have a lot of gripping strength, you may want someone to help you. I'm a 28 year old man and my thumbs were aching after all was said and done. Despite these reservations I'm still pleased with my purchase.

I spent a while enduring Geekria's Elite Perforated Sheepskin Replacement pads while the oem's were out of stock, and there is no comparison. The real deal Sennheiser pads are worth every penny and absolutely integral to maintaining the incredible sonics of the HD800's. I've been listening to these headphones every day since 2010 and am so happy to have the magic back with a fresh pair of pads.

orginal only isue its hard to install

Installing these ear pads was not intuitive and Sennheiser applies no guidance. It is a lot easier if you carefully watch Mike's video on HiFi Insider as it appears that the repetitive application of pressure to the pad eventually moulds the shape so that it magically attaches to the headphone cup. That said, these are expensive for way they are. Since my last set last 10 years - I don't look to replace these again until 2017.

Good material and easy to install.

Tremendous improvement over cheap alternatives in comfort, seal and build quality. However, it's very hard to install as the membranes may be too tight when new. Price is also undeniably high.

￥8,745で買いました。純正品なので、本当にHD800sに使えるのかとか安かろう悪かろうではないかとか、不安を感じることがありません。オーディオは趣味の世界なので、本体の周りの品も純正でありたいもの、と思います。不安感を抱くことがないのは、大事だと思います。値段が多少高くても……。値段なりの価値があるかどうかはこれから検証します。高いことは高いですが、安心を買ったと思うことにします。

Headphones are like new again, very easy to install.

Passt perfekt. Es ist zwar etwas fummelig den Kopfhörer neu zu beziehen, aber es funktioniert per Saldo. Ich würde auch nur Originalteile von Sennheiser empfehlen, damit er weiterhin gut klingt. Der einzige Wermutstropfen bei der ganzen Geschichte: Ich finde es traurig, dass sich bei einem Kopfhörer der 1000 € Klasse nach so kurzer Zeit das Schaumpolster auflöst. Und Ersatz ist nicht billig! Der Bügel war auch fällig und kostet knapp 50 € zusätzlich.
