Works well
Works well. Difficult to remove original non-working unit so I used double sided tape and stuck the new one on top. You do have to reprogram the new to work with the original remote not difficult to do.

Perfect replacement fan kit...
I have a 16 year old Minka ceiling fan. The remote control only randomly worked. After searching Amazon, I came across this replacement Minka fan kit. The control in the Amazon picture matched the control I already had. I figured the fan problem was either the controller or the receiver. I took a chance and ordered this kit. I tried the new controller that came with the kit. The fan had the same problem. So, the receiver must be bad. I wasn't sure the new receiver would fit or if it would even work on an old fan. However, the new receiver fit like a glove and worked perfectly. Fan fixed ! Thanks Amazon and Minka...

My fan stopped working and I thought it was the wiring or the actual remote. I didn't know this type of fan have a receiver and found out the receiver was dead. Thankfully I purchased this remote receiver combo and it saved me plenty money.

Perfect, no guess work for the installation. A little electrical back ground will make the installation go smoothly.

Terrible design
This receiver has absolutely terrible design. I purchased this as this is the exact receiver / remote that goes with MINKA-AIRE F524-CL. This receiver is HUGE, such that it does not fit in the fan housing or the junction box. With today’s technology, there is no reason for this receiver to be so large. The only way to use it is to install it in the crawl space above the ceiling. Unfortunately, this was discovered after nearly completing the fan installation. This is an example of one department of Minka-Aire not communicating with another department. Terrible design. Shame on Minka-Air.
