Great device, need to know how to use.
Excellent camera for the price. You really need to learn how to use these to make them worth while. If you’re using the auto temperature scale you’re using it wrong. Their are free resources online to learn how to use any thermal imaging camera correctly, highly recommend watching a few videos at the minimum.

DIY Thermal Imaging for homeowner
Works great and easy to use. I am using it to inspect my home which is under construction. In rooms with 10ft ceilings, it makes it easy to confirm whether or not vents are blowing cold air. No more climbing a step ladder and holding your hand up there. It also fits easily in your pocket.

Important utility tool
Very important utility tool, -1 star because startup takes about 50s. But for on the go use, users need to capture, walk a minute or two, then capture again. Could have a standby mode since battery is limited. USB-C charging and file transfer is good. Purchased once in 2022, was hoping for new model, but new model was too expensive, so ended up with c5 again.

Expensive but it has already paid for itself
Well made, rugged, good performance and the software menus are easy to navigate. Good battery life. Bright clear screen is large, making viewing easy. Drops right into a jacket pocket, easy to carry. We use it to spot bad chips on power amplifier circuit boards. You can't see it with the naked eye, but this camera shows the overheated chips glowing brightly on the screen. The boards are diagnosed in minutes instead of hours. For that reason alone it was worth the price. If you're new to infrared imaging, don't expect lots of megapixels, that would cost you a fortune. Instead, if you need more resolution just get closer to the subject. The resolution of this camera is adequate for my application. It has good file-transfer features which I haven't used yet. It also has another use that is equally wonderful. If a horse or cow doesn't come home at night, this camera can quickly spot them a long distance away. Likewise, a quick scan of the pasture confirms all are present and accounted for. It's better than a flashlight because they stand out among objects that conceal them such as fences, trees and bushes, which appear dark in the infrared image.

Bricked by Firmware Update, Warranty Not Honored
I paid around $850 for this thermal camera and used it lightly and professionally. I’m a contractor in Arizona and only used it after rain events to help locate active leaks—so very limited use in a dry climate. The unit became completely inoperable immediately after a manufacturer firmware update. This was not damage, misuse, or wear. The update itself bricked the device. When I started the RMA, the system showed the unit was under warranty, which is the only reason I sent it in. After receiving it, the company refused to stand behind the product or the firmware that caused the failure. To be honest, even before this happened, the unit was never great. It was slow, often had trouble connecting, and felt underpowered for a product at this price point. I tolerated those issues because I expected long-term reliability and proper support from a premium brand. At this price, with such light use, this product should last many years, not fail due to a routine firmware update and then be abandoned by the manufacturer. This experience completely killed my trust in the brand. I will not purchase another FLIR product, and I would strongly caution others to consider the risk—especially if you depend on this tool for professional work. Bottom line: Expensive, underwhelming performance, and poor warranty support when it mattered most. You're paying for the name, not the quality.

See the unseen
I bought the thermal camera for work. I inspect boilers and associated equipment. It is an excellent tool in this line of work. When I purchased it, my understanding of thermal technology was very limited but this camera is very simplistic to use producing high quality thermolgraphs. It has been instrumental in locating faulty insulation and various hot spots not visible to the naked eye. I plan to upgrade to the FLIR C8 for my next thermal camera.

Worse than C3
After light use (less than 300 photos), the unit will no longer connect to WiFi to upload photos to my sync folder or ignite. Tried to reset the C5, delete my WiFi connection and then add it again, turning off and on various functions in an attempt to get it to work properly but to no avail. Now it stopped displaying the thumbnail photos when I open the sync folder so I can’t even tell which picture I’m selecting. I had the C3 and early on I had an issue where it would ONLY connect to my iPhone 6s and no other phone so I had to solely use that phone for work. I eventually sent it in for warranty work and they ultimately gave me credit which is when I bought the C5. I was impressed for the first month or so with picture quality but then the quality became pixelated and streaky. That issue would come and go at random and would show up on the photographs as well. However, I dealt with that because I did like this unit due to the higher resolution and such but I noticed that the refresh rate seemed faster on the C3 even though the picture quality wasn’t as good. The C3 only lasted a little over one year and I think that’s ridiculous for such an expensive piece of equipment. However, the C-5 didn’t even last one month without issues. Flir needs to do a better job of quality control. It’s a shame that SEEK is so far behind Flir otherwise I would switch back to using their stuff. Hey Flir, get ahold of me so I can send this piece of junk back to you and on a warranty claim!

Buena cámara térmica
Me agrado mucho la cámara y me sirve para el propósito que la compre, solamente al estuche le faltaría una bolsa adicional para guardar el cable de carga.

Incredible device
Extremely useful camera, found to have many uses. I use it to show up heat anomalies on electronic printed circuit boards, i.e. difference in temperature between adjacent RAM chips. Also used for investigating sources of heat loss around walls and doorways in my house. Very convenient feature of camera is that it always takes 2 photos (one infra-red, the other conventional photo so you get a handle on what it was you are seeing in infra-red. Very sensitive. Very compact and portable. Holds battery charge well. Wish I had bought one years ago!!!!!!!

This ain't no cheap knockoff
This is the real deal FLIR, no cheap knockoffs here. As a general contractor I rely on detailed analysis of wall temperature differentials to identify potential wet spots and trace leaks and without this tool I simply can't do that. The picture quality is amazing and saving a photo is super easy. Delivering photos to the computer is also super easy with the wifi feature. It's lightweight and has a great battery life. The built in case is also super rubbey and does an amazing job of protecting the camera. Charging is fast and reliable and the startup time is remarkably short compared to a lot of thermal cameras I've used in the past. For the money nothing, absolutely nothing beats this compact and mighty thermal camera.
