I can't get this balanced for the life of me. Any troubleshooting tips on getting this to work?

If you are talking about balancing the weight, in order for it to track well. I would suggest making sure that the base is positioned so that the brush is centered on the spindle of the turntable when it is swung in all the way. This makes the tracking speed much less dependent on how the weight is adjusted. I hope this helps.

Is there any way to set up the anti-skating on this broom? It seems to always veer outwards no matter how much vertical tracking force I put on it.

Make sure the brush is tightened properly to the arm. I am by far an expert, my brush did the same thing, but this fixed it for me. Also make sure that the brush is the right height. I don't know if Hudson would approve of this, but setting it so the arm is slightly higher that level with the arm. This seems to give the brush more weight. It took a little tinkering, but it seems to work great now.

Is this better than a brush?

This is in addition to a brush, I use a felt brush and then set this on the record, it picks up any dust that may land as needle is moving, it precedes the needle. it works well.

It could possibly fit. It’s smaller in diameter. But it has a ground wire attached at the base. That’s the only thing.
