In my experience, it only attracted flies, not bees.

Does it kill fruit flies?

I am delighted to report that in my experience, it does attract and trap (and subsequently drown) fruit flies. I let it sit out the first night and the next day there must have been fifty fruit flies floating in the stuff. So, only 999,950 left to go!

Does it attract biting horseflies?

No. Horseflies are attracted to dark moving objects. Google "make your own horsefly trap". Catching horseflies involves a more complicated trap but it's worth the extra effort IMO

does it work on big horse flies?

Don't know if they are horse flies but in the city we get ginormous flies that fly really fast, make a high whining noise, and are really aggressive. I call them Razor Flies becuz of the sound. And they LOVE the smell of this trap. We have a lot less of them since we put up the traps.
