I won't dish out money for anything this nice that comes in a cheap plastic jar. At 8 bucks for 8 oz, how is your product packaged?

This comes in a durable plastic container with a removable two sided flip top lid. This gives the options to sprinkle or pour. Amazon fulfillment and shipping costs are built into the price.

I usually sprinkle this cheese on soup or other foods after they have been cooked. I think I remember sprinkling it on soup before it was cooked and it did melt. I hope thi helps.

What is the shelf life of this?

Several months. The ones I sent to the fulfillment center a few months ago had a date in mid January. There are a number of sellers so what you get may vary.

This parmasean cheese is hands down the best. It's great in dishes and on top. With meat or fish it's just wonderful. I will however find it somewhere with a better price.

This cheese will not disappoint you! I’m Italian. I love fresh grated Parmesan on my pasta but I don’t always have that on hand. I keep a bottle of this in my refrigerator at all times. It’s terrific on pasta, in soups etc. excellent product. So much flavor.

First, this is rated ONLY on MY personal taste, others in the family thought it was fine. This is why I gave it 4 stars...personally I would have done zero and family a four or five stars. I have to say I will not be buying this again unless asked to by prior mentioned family members. I do NOT believe this is a bad product overall but for my personal taste...nope! Very fresh product
