I was looking for Christmas gift ideas and decided to try out this cupcake maker first before purchasing any more to use as gifts. This cupcake maker cooks a lot faster than my old one so I had to make sure I kept an eye on it so they wouldn't burn, which really is the only issue I have had so far with it. I use box cake mix and full sized cupcake liners. I let the machine heat up until the green indicator light lit up then add the liners and filled each cup about 3/4 of the way full. I use a largish ice cream scoop for filling so they all come out the same size. The instruction booklet says bake 7-10 minutes. The first batch I made I kept them in for 7 minutes and the tops had already started to get a bit cooked, so I only left the next batch in for 6 minutes. I waited until the green light turned on in between batches before I added any batter. Then I noticed they were all cooked in 5 minutes, so you will really need to keep an eye on them. I would start to smell them and see a bit of steam come up from the back. There is no timer on the machine, just a red and green indicator light on the top. This machine is small so it won't take up a lot of room on the counter or in the cupboard, the teal color also looks pretty. One thing this machine does that my other machine doesn't do is it browns the tops. I love how my other one bakes but when I make muffins the tops never get browned and that is the best part! I have only used this to make cupcakes so far, I am looking forward to making the next batch of muffins in this to see how crispy I can get the tops. Clean up is easy, just a quick wipe with a paper towel and you're done! I use a small silicon spatula to remove the cupcakes to protect the finish. Its nice being able to bake without heating up the kitchen. With our other machine I have found it is easy enough to freeze cake batter so you don't have to make the whole batch at one time, which makes it easy to make just one or two cupcakes at a time for a quick dessert. You can either keep it in a small Tupperware type container and scoop it out like ice cream, or store in a freezer bag until you need it. Just add a couple of minutes more to the cooking time to allow for the batter to defrost. *Update 11/28/16- I tried baking some blueberry muffins this morning. I noticed that the muffins browned quicker on the left side of the machine than they did on the right. At 6 minutes they looked done but when I split one open to add a bit of butter they were still liquid inside? Back into the machine. After 3 more minutes they were completely done. They did brown nicely, but unfortunately they came out a bit too dry after fully baking. This cupcake machine makes great cupcakes so I still bought a couple more machines to give out for Christmas.

ORDER 11/23, SHIPPED 11/24 ARRIVED 11/27 GREAT SHIPPING AND FAST!!!! NOW FOR THE CUPCAKE MAKER, I LOVE IT!! with 1 box of cake mix I made about 17 cupcakes and they were made really quick, they are so cute. I REALLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!! JUST MAKE SURE YOUR CUPCAKE MAKER IS HOT FIRST, THEN START YOUR CUPCAKES, I would recommend letting them cook for the 9 minutes to make sure they are done, we played with the time, we did some for 7 minutes and some for 9 and the ones we did for 7 minutes had batter balls, the ones we did for 9 minutes were completely done. I also love the way it is made, it is not big and bulky, it's small, great for storage and it is easy clean up. the manual comes w/ 2 recipes for chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. this is really a great buy, my kids and I really love it!

This appliance makes great muffins. I have used Martha White muffin mixes and Jiffy Corn Muffin mixes. I followed the directions on the back of the packages exactly, and had excellent results. Martha White has a muffin mix called Birthday Cake which is more like cake than muffins. If one puts a little icing on them, it is like having cupcakes! I have purchased canned biscuits and canned cinnamon rolls (not the Grands, but the small diameter cans) and tried them in this muffin maker, and had perfect results. Pillsbury and whatever house brand products came out equally well. However, canned crescent rolls were a total failure. If you go to the Ken Click YouTube channel, he has a recipe for biscuits made in the Dash pie maker. I took his same full recipe, divided it in half between two muffin cups, and the resulting biscuits were wonderful. We now like biscuits cooked in this maker better than when baked in an oven. I have divided cake mixes in half, making only half the mix, and the resulting cupcakes turned out perfectly. The weirdest thing I did was make little crustless egg quiches in this muffin maker, and they also came out very good. So now I can do a breakfast of eggs and biscuits at the same time, but the eggs cook more quickly than the biscuits. Depending on how big a bite one takes, there are at least 2 to 4 bites per item made in the appliance. The men in my family were pleased that these muffins or eggs were not the mini one bite sizes. There is a recipe booklet that comes with this maker, but I have not tried any of the recipes. I can say that the recipes use common ingredients found in most stores. Caveat: The non stick surface is not the most wonderful in the world, but neither is it awful. I put about a teaspoon or less of oil in one of the cups, then use a silicone pastry brush to spread the oil to the other cups and lid. Clean up is a snap, but it would not be wise to use a sloppy wet sponge/dishrag to clean up this appliance. The plates are NOT removable and there is a very tiny space between the plates and the housing of the appliance where water can drip down into the electrics. I would most definitely purchase this muffin maker again. It is versatile, easy to use and clean up, and doesn't heat up my small southern kitchen. Also, it easily stores on its end like a suitcase, and does not have to store flat on its feet taking up room in my small cabinet.

Works great! Cupcakes came out great. Depending on how much batter you put in it you can make flat cupcakes or domed cupcakes. The domed ones become darker on top though. There is a little bit of uneven browning but it is a negligible amount. They are kinda hard to get out when they are finished and I am trying to find the best technique for that. I tried a small spatula but that kinda dented the side of my cupcakes. And thongs didn't seem to work either. I use paper cups and it works great. I also tried without cups and without cooking spray and they came out with no problem. But I guess using some spray is a good idea though when using no liners. The manual says silicone liners work too but I haven't tried it yet. I used batter from scratch but you can use box mixes too ...and I will. The unit is also very easy to clean! Just wipe of with a wet cloth and dry with dry cloth. So much easier than trying to clean a waffle iron. I use a nr. 20 ice cream scoop for the batter and this method didn't leave a single drop of batter on the plates. So to sum up...LOVE it...some techniques to be figured for best use...but love it. Happy I purchased.
