Great Christmas album by a very good singer

Kelly Clarkson's Christmas album Wrapped in Red is a collection of classics and pop tinged melodies that will delight the holiday reveler wanting to get into the musical mood of the season. Each song contains a variety of arrangements that may have the listener swaying to the rhythm from the first to the last song. Wrapped in Red includes 14 riveting tracks that smoothly transitions to the next with the exceptional production by Greg Kurstin. And a Christmas album would not be without the perennial tunes that listeners have grown familiar with during the holiday season, and Clarkson follows in the tradition with her distinct vocals on each one, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "White Christmas," "I'll Be Home For Christmas," and "Silent Night" (with Reba and Trisha Yearwood). She adds a bit of a rockin' around the Christmas tree 1960s style with the following songs that could have been on a Phil Spector and the Ronettes album, "Wrapped in Red," the wall of sound and excellent brief saxaphone solo on "Underneath the Tree," an a la Chuck Berry rendering of "Run Run Rudolph," opening chords of "Pipeline" begins the song "4 Carats" and girl group like back-up vocals, and "Winter Dreams (Brandon's Song)." Clarkson continues with a few more songs that carry the heart of rock and roll and blues of the season, "Please Come Home For Christmas," "Blue Christmas," and an Otis Redding sounding "Every Christmas," nice brass section. Things lighten up a bit with the jazzy "Baby It's Cold Outside" (with Ronnie Dunn), "My Favorite Things" and the contemporary sounding of all of the songs "Just For Now" concludes the album. This is bound to be a holiday favorite for Clarkson fans or listeners that cannot get enough of the sounds of the holidays. And along with the songs, the digital book contains information of Clarkson's inspiration for the album, production, and colorful pictures.

Perfect Christmas CD especially if you like Kelly Clarkson music.

This is a great album. I don't have many Christmas albums, but this is a must. Kelly Clarkson is one of those artists that I'm normally not a buyer of. Granted she has an AMAZING voice, but too often I find her material overbearing and not appealing to my tastes anyway. To each their own, I guess. This album --and her 2nd Christmas album, which I'll be reviewing later-- are exceptions to that statement. This album shows off a side of the rocker Kelly we normally don't see. A gentler, adult contemporary Kelly and she spreads great holiday cheer through these selections. Too often Christmas albums are stuffy or nontraditional. Kelly walks a fine line with these tracks and balances the traditional and contemporary material and with aplomb. I enjoy all these tracks! "Underneath the Tree" is a favorite and my pick for the next holiday classic. Just wait and see. The ballads are all tastefully done and Kelly sings each with passion and vigor. It's wonderful! There are up tempos and ballads in this far-reaching set of holiday tunes for the whole family to enjoy. No profanity or sexual ness. This album has something 4 everybody. A great holiday album and I will play this far into the future. It's great 4 holidays, but truth is I play it year-round!

Kelly Clarkson is the best thing to come out of "American Idol" and that says a lot because she won the first season. One of the best female vocalists I've ever heard and the best of her of her generation. I am also a repeat customer of this seller.

Really like the 5 songs Kelly Clarkson co-wrote on this album/CD, and all the original classic tunes as well. Would recommend this for anyone's Christmas music collection.
