Very delicious Halvah.

Many to most of the individual bar wrappers are not sealed on the ends. This caused the open ones to leak an oily mess on the entire package. A bit of a mess and seems like since most are not sealed, they are no longer shelf stable at all. The couple that were sealed and eaten were very good.

This was just like what I had at a Chicago deli back in the late 60s. It brought back so many memories! Truly delicious. halva It's slightly oily and the best part is the way the seeds squeak between your teeth as you chew it. I like the vanilla better than the marble because I find the chocolate swirls to be slightly bitter. This treat is not too sweet, but it is very rich with sesame oil. If you're hungry and don't have time to take a break for a meal, a bar of Joyva Halvah is very satisfying and can tame your hunger pangs for a few hours. My package arrived with about half of the bars having soaked oil through their wrappers. They had even soaked oil through the outer carton. It did not affect the taste in any way, but because I was worried that it might affect the freshness of the halvah, I hurried up and ate all of it very quickly. (Tee hee hee!)

I like Halva, and for an indiv wrapped product, I like them well enough. Price, quantity & quality. Everyone would prob like "just 1 more bite" of any treat, but I think these are quite perfectly sized... that said, its probably a very large portion if normally consumed in just 2-3 bites in polite society. I got Marbled (red pkg). If you've never had this before, dont be fooled by a "chocolate" description... they are very faintly flavored. ****If you have had halva before, then they are exactly what you'd expect, and not too sweet. Several commented on them being greasy. So, the oil helps the treat not stick to the inside of the wrapper. But, yeah, they're not each sealed super great either... so the outside of the wrapper or even the box can be a little greasy. The treats themselves are a little messy on thier surface, but I did not think it was slimy or weird when actually eating them... the oil orobably helped since halva could be a little dry, but they are the traditional texture. I told my officemates that halva is a bit like biting into a freeze dried marshmallow, moreso than (as halva is always decribed) like a "fudge" ... fudge sounds far too soft or creamy or pliable compared to halva. I'm curious about the pistachio variety, but dont want a box full. Wish there was a variety pack. GF, dairy free, processed in a plant w nuts. Caution: egg allergy. Research shows its a New York Company. Will probably shop them again, and explore all thier options.

This is one of my favorite brands of Halvah, which is hard to find. When it’s in the store, it sells out quickly. I hope that Amazon will continue to carry it.

Overall these are decent. But unlike traditional halvah, they are melted and oily when you open them up. I'm going to try putting them in the fridge, but I doubt that will help. Also, I got the marble ones, but there isn't a lot of marbling in them. They seem just plain flavored to me.
