My most perfect iron!
I'm a quilter by hobby so picking out an iron is a very important thing. This is my second Rowenta Iron - the only reason I had to choose a new one was the old one I kept dropping (always my fault for banging into the ironing board to have everything fall over) anyway, it went through 4 years of hard falls before the casing finally cracked. If you knew how many times I tipped over the ironing board, you would be impressed with that. So I finally got smart, moved the ironing board (and furniture) so I can no longer tip it over. This new iron is more impressive, does a much better job of ironing and makes for a smooth maneuver over the material. The only "thing" I can find fault for, is that the steam (water in the tank) does not last long due to that at the beginning it over steams the material and is using up the water faster. Not sure if there is a way to control that at the beginning to make it last longer. Now that I've got it (my ironing board and iron) in a safer place, I expect that this will last me for years. Thank you for developing a sturdy, safe and long lasting iron!

Great iron - lots of steam when you need it.
I like this iron, but I don’t love it. I’m finicky, so my complaints might be considered minor, but none the less I think they’re valid. First the good qualities; The mix of settings is very nice. Temperature settings are accurate. The iron is well balanced, and the sole plate is flawless. The tip is also good for getting into tight spots. Filling the water reservoir is a breeze and I like that it has a flapper style door to seal the reservoir. Aesthetically, I like the color, BUT it does hamper the ability to see how much water is in the reservoir. Now for my chief complaint - this iron uses a lot, and I do mean copious amounts, of water. Even at the low end of the steam setting I find myself filling up the reservoir after a couple of items. This excessive amount of steam leads to a lot of water droplets on the floor as you work your way around an item of clothing. Turn up the steam setting on this baby and you’ll quickly learn the meaning of the word sweatshop.

Rowenta is the best period.......
Just purchased this Rowenta iron after having to replace the last one after 10 years. This one is ecvery bit as good if not better than the last. I have looked over some of the reviews and to be quite frank I am not sure what some of the bad reviews could have been experiencing. I have purchased Rowenta Irons exclusively after being told about them by a family that had a clothes washing service many years ago. I have never had a less than stellar experience from this company and the products. I fully expect this iron to last several years too. This particular model is better than the last in the quality, consistency, the amount and evenness of the steam produced. No excessive drips, and very clean steam. No problems with the unit right out of the box. Will go back again as long as I am around the make the purchases

Awesome but VERY heavy.
I really like this iron, but I really dislike the color. I mean, the color is okay, it's just that the knob is equally dark and makes it more challenging to visibly see on what setting it's set. Plus, the darkness of makes it more challenging to see the water level in the unit. I read the reviews on how it leaks, etc., and I am strongly suspect of the negative reviews on here. You need to follow the instructions and empty the water out after each use, or at least use it all up each time. And never use anything other than tap water. The auto-off switch was initially annoying, because you have to wait for it to heat back up fully after several minutes of disuse, but be very careful once it heats up because this baby will get HOT. I was also initially annoyed by how heavy it was, even before adding water, but its weight makes it easier to use and to apply less pressure to press clothes. Just don't drop it on your toe! In summary, I have no idea why I paid nearly $100 for an iron. I'd like to say this is a professional iron, but even professional irons don't function as nice. If you have about $50 extra to burn and want to treat yourself, go for it. To this day my only beef is with the color, and would've preferred White over anything else.

GREAT Customer Service
This iron was a big splurge for me but totally revolutionized my ironing game. Great product!! Unfortunately after JUST over a year water started leaking out of the cord socket. Rowenta Customer service was amazing. Full replacement with a better model even though it was slightly out of warranty, AND because the replacement was on back order for a month they sent me a simpler model for free to use the meantime. They've just secured a lifelong customer!

Broken out of the box. UPDATED 11 13 2023
I read lots of negative reviews about Rowenta irons but the positives heavily outweighed the bad ones so I took a shot and invested in what I hope to be a great steam iron. It was delivered today and I was so excited to get it out and try it! I took it out of the box and the prongs on the power cord were bent out of place. No problem. I was able to bend it back so it would fit in the outlet. I added some water, plugged it in, and turned it on. I let it heat up for a moment and then began to iron a black cotton poplin shirt to test it out. As soon as I tipped the iron to horizontal, the steam kicked in and blew white chunks all over the black shirt. Concerning as I've literally never used this iron and I bought it NEW on Amazon. Whatever. I brushed the white bits away and ironed the shirt. It irons great! Very easy and smooth. I did notice a strange smell. A very heavy plastic smell, almost like melting plastic but it could just be the "new" iron smell? It's a little heavier than my previous iron but I wanted that so it's not a problem for me. After I iron the shirt successfully, I take a closer look at the knobs and various writing printed on the plastic and I discover that there are cracks in the plastic right out of the box! It also looks dirty like there is dust or something on it. Seriously?! I'm not sure if this is a Rowenta issue or if this is an Amazon issue but I'm getting a replacement sent out asap. If the replacement isn't immaculate, it's going back and I will order it from Williams Sonoma. The only reason I ordered from Amazon was because of the free prime shipping. I'm happy to buy from Williams Sonoma and pay $48 for shipping if it means I won't be getting a used/broken item. I will post an update when the replacement iron arrives. Update 11/13/2023 The replacement iron has been great for the last 11 months. It just started leaking copious amounts of water from the reservoir and cord junction. Rowenta customer service is reviewing my proof of purchase and will hopefully send a label for it to be sent out for repair. I will be without an iron for 4-6 weeks according to the person I spoke with so now I have to buy an iron to hold me over while this one is being repaired. I iron a couple days a week so it's my only option. I am completely dissatisfied with Rowenta. All of the negative reviews are true and I will never order another Rowenta product. The customer service rep also said that the repair is only covered under warranty until the original end date of the initial warranty which is 12 months from the initial purchase. When I get it back, even the repair will be out of warranty and if the repair is substandard, I will be out of luck. For $130, I would have expected the iron to last longer than 11 months. For about $12 per month, you can lease an iron from Rowenta! It's like Netflix but for small appliances! Give me a break! Rowenta is trash.

Still Made in Germany -- and not All Rowenta's are Anymore
Like Rowenta? So do I. I've had a number of their irons over the years, and have always been happy with them. But in recent years, Rowenta has given into market forces, and they now make a bunch of their irons in China. Happily, that does not apply to this model. This one is actually still made in Germany, and you feel it the minute you pick it up. It's as solid as a rock and performs wonderfully. I am noticing less water seepage as I iron as compared to even previous Rowenta models, and the handling and gliding over the suface is just fine. (Note that this model, like many Rowenta's, uses a stainless steel plate, not a Teflon-coated plate, so be careful not to scratch it up, or it won't be smooth and can then wear your fabric.) The water compartment holds a lot of water, although truth be told, when you are heavily steaming, you'll be refilling a lot, too, because it is passing all that water to the clothing via steam. One minor downside is that if you get the blue-gree model it can be a little difficult to easily check the water level due to the darkness of the plastic used: you almost need a light source of some type behind the iron when checking. Controls work reassuring well, and there is even a nifty "calc catcher" that is removable: we'll have to see how well this works over time, as we have very heavy water here where I live. It's a bit pricier than some other irons, but then again, less expensive than a lot of others I've seen. It works fantatic, and is still made in Germany. I can highly recommend it.

Looks amazing, fantastic quality, works great. Easy to fill once you get the knack.
Well, everything is not made in China. This sleek looking sample of ironing engineering is made in Germany, a country synonymous with technology. The design and color scheme is a cross somewhere between a high-speed yacht and a jet fighter. General observations: The base is mirror finish, glass smooth stainless steel with more teeny holes that I could be bothered to count. Compared to our current irons, there are at least 4x as many. There's a nice stress relief on the power cord that also keeps the wire away from the iron. The temp dial is large and easy to read. There are two large buttons on top for the water and steam. That's my only complaint - they are difficult to press. After using the iron for around 15 minutes my thumb felt the effects of pressing the buttons. Compared to the iron we use the most (over the years we've collected a few) it takes twice the effort to press. Filling: The face of the iron has a door that flips open exposing a scoop shaped opening that funnels water to a hole for the water tank. This is obviously designed to be filled while holding in your hand - otherwise the angle does not work. I filled it from the tap and using a syrup container. Either worked well. It's impossible to fill standing up, and very messy to try if it's laying down. Ease of use: Well, I cheated here. I don't iron much. I'm a walking wrinkle-fest. My GF irons, so she tried this out. Her observations: glides over material, very even steam pattern, easy to use. Buttons are hard to press. Easy to fill. The shape of the tip is great for "tight spaces" and points. A lot lighter than she thought it would be (I weighed it - 4lbs. 1 oz filled.) The dark blue makes it difficult to see the current fill level. She had to get the lighting "just right" to see it. By far the best iron we have.

Iron not meant for SG usage
Iron became faulty just 3 months after purchase with very minimal usage. Repair centre said this voltage is not meant for SG usage and can’t repair. Waiting for seller to get back on a solution to repair the iron.

Best Iron I've Ever Owned!
I had seen this iron in a department store awhile ago for $179. I thought that was steep to pay for an iron. But I needed a new iron. I checked on Amazon and found the same iron for around $78. An awesome deal! I read several reviews. One person mentioned the weight was good, so you didn't have to press down, and I found the same to be true. After the first time I used it I was very impressed with the amount of steam it gave off without my having to press a button. It went through the water quickly, but it did an awesome job pressing my clothes and getting the wrinkles out effortlessly. I've never had an iron that ejected so much steam. I love this iron. I also like the fact that you can purchase a cleaning kit for it. I read the instructions, and one thing I did not understand, it said empty out the water and put in the position of dry. Was there supposed to be a setting for dry or did it mean just stand it up to dry? Either way, I really love this iron and would highly recommend it to others. I read some irons had problems after a short while. I hope I don't experience any troubles. Also I received it same day delivery!

Very Good Iron
This iron is great. It glides smoothly and gets rid of stubborn wrinkles. It also has a nice puff of steam when you push the steam button. I like the anti-calc feature that collects minerals from the water in a device on the iron, which you empty and allows you to keep the iron mineral free. It's German made, so it should last a long time.
