A visually enticing book showcasing the personal spaces of over 20 renowned British designers and decorators, offering inspiration and practical ideas for living spaces. Review: Glorious book - This book is fabulous. It’s big, heavy, and full of pictures of different designers’ own homes, ones we can even aspire to. Lovely interviews with the designers and a photo of each one outside their front door. Their homes are beautiful but homely, and full of inspirational ideas. It’s going to take me some time to read it and study all the photos, each of which has a detailed description. This book is a real find, beautifully produced and absolutely riveting to look through! Review: Beautiful, generous and inspiring. A real treat and a fantastic price. - Absolutely beautiful coffee table book on British interiors. I love that it contains photos, history on the house and an interview with the decorator. They’ve got all the big names in interior decorating and design and the houses are ravishing. If you like “bankers beige” boring prosaic interiors maybe not for you but if you love the history of houses and eclectic old-school English interiors this is for you. A real treat read it in bed on a Sunday morning. Inspiring.

The very essence of English style
What a gorgeous book! I have always loved books on interior design, in particular the English style of decorating, books on or by John Fowler, David Hicks, William Yeoward, Ben Pentreath, and so many more, and this one has immediately captured my imagination, grabbed my design heart-strings. It has the most wonderful photographs accompanied by short essays by the various designers, from Alidad to Robert Kime, Rita Konig to Jane Churchill. There are small vignettes - tablescapes, corners of rooms, staircases - as well as double-page spreads, and photos of gardens as well as interiors. If you are as interested in English interiors as much as I am, this book is for you.

Each page a delight
Pages and pages of beautiful, comfortable homes that are the antithesis of minimalism. Rooms full of personality, making you want to live in them.

A good presentation of English Style ...
The author grew up in South Africa and now lives in Australia. Although her heart appears to be rooted in the English countryside. So it works well that a group of outstanding British designers have opened their doors to the camera. With all the brexit nonsense we are looking inward and that means classic English style which is displayed in abundance on these pages. A great book in the cold and dreary weather, worth buying and flicking through every year or so.

Perfect for dipping into a box of chocolates of British designers. delicious.
I adore this book. Nothing generic about the designs from these individual and unique designers. all the photos deserve close scrutiny & all are filled with joy. no design for design sake. impactful but gently evolved, it seems, as if over time. just the cover itself brings great joy as I come upon it carelessly tossed on a sofa or chair. one of the best interior books I have read.

Stunning
This book is a real treat. Absolutely beautifully shot and full of inspiration from the people whose goal it is to make life more beautiful. A joy to slowly peruse on a Sunday afternoon. (Also, a lot heavier than I expected! A substantial ‘coffee table book’).

In this grey design world, it is wonderful to see complicated colors and layered patterns. Rooms have curated furnishings, gorgeous international textiles, and real-life, living characters. Allow some time when you open up this book. I couldnt stop. It nourished my creative soul with subtleties in color combinations. Its a great reference book, too. Inspirational!
