Champion Barbell Solid Hex Dumbbells

Exactly as advertised and delivered to your door, I’m pretty sure the delivery guy hates me but I’m enjoying my dumbbells. The rubber coated ones supposedly have a distracting oder, not a problem with these cast iron dumbbells. I found plates on interchangeable weights distracting when they spun during exercise movements. As I’m getting stronger I’m ordering heavier dumbbells, sorry about that delivery guy.

I ordered two 45 lbs dumbbells. I am pretty dissapointed in one of them due to the welds. One of them is perfect the other has so many weld splatter marks and its extremely sharp. One is almost the size of a dime and razer sharp. Overall I was pretty dissapointed. I have pairs ranging from 5-70 in five lb increments and this is the absolute worst I have seen. Just watch out for that.

I bought 2 of the 100 pound dumbbells and I do like them, Buying through Amazon was way cheaper then here locally. But the reason for 3 stars instead of 5 is because the welding that holds the the weights to the gripping bar was very shady to say the least. It looks like it was someones first day on the job and my weights was used as practice. Since I'm gonna have these 100 pound weights above my face, and feet and I would like the ends to not fall off, I am going to have a real welding company fix them and tack weld them correctly. Besides that, there worth every penny!

Why are weights so expensive? I could only afford 1 weight, but I use it every day for some easy weightlifting to workout my biceps and triceps. Free weights are the way to go, and I have no qualms with these besides the cost. As long as you know what you're going to use them for they function perfectly. It's nice if you want to avoid the gym. I can do easy stuff at home with these, and leave the big workouts for the gym.

I was pretty impressed with this buy. Typically weights cost $1/lb and on Amazon they are usually way way more. This 15lb set (yes set, it came with two 15lb dumbbells) came in at under $1/lb costing $28.32 for the set at the time of my purchase WITH prime shipping. Free 2 day shipping for 30lbs of weight under $30? Win.I suppose I'll get on to the dumbbells themselves. They're pretty standard. Hex which I prefer since I'm always chasing down my adjustable dumbbells. The grip is good. I saw complaints about poor finish and protruding metal pieces to get cut on - I didn't experience this. The quality is good enough that, if I felt like spending the money to switch from adjustable plate dumbbells to a full rack of these, I'd buy this brand.

I have achieved enlightenment through the form of picking up heavy objects, and putting them back down. Due to the corona virus surging and all gyms closing I NEEDED dumbbells to continue my greatness. I saw these and ordered the 80lb + 65lb immediately thinking they would come in a pair but they DO NOT. They come as (1) dumbbell. It's fine for now as I still can do everything I need just with single arms. Will order more in the future. Quality is OK, nothing spectacular. The swole train cannot be stopped.

I noticed these dumbbells are covered in silver paint. When I received them, parts of the paint were flaking off around the weighted areas (not the handle). It reveals the actual dark grey/black material underneath. I wiped them down and they haven't flaked since I started using them.

There's a reason why you can get sets of these pretty inexpensive as compared to your local sporting goods store...They're really, really cheaply manufactured. While they serve their purpose for lifting, and the ergonomic grip is nice, the finish chips off of these things the minute you accidentally knock them together (think chest flies, presses of any kind where you meet at the top, etc). At the end of certain workouts there are paint chips all over my floor, which immediately makes me regret not getting the rubber coated versions.Spend a little extra dough and skip these. They work, yes...but paint chipping in your eye during a chest flye is pretty awful.

good weights. I mean, you can't go wrong with those. the grip is a bit hard for the hands but not too much... the only problem I had is that I ordered 2 30-pounds and one had a bigger handle than the other

I realized after the fact that I could buy dumbells way cheaper at two of the local fitness stores. Otherwise these are fine.
