It does not kill the slugs and snails, just puts them off from where they were headed.
To try and stop the slugs and snails from heading for my bedding plants etc. when they come into contact with this product it causes them to produce a profuse amount of bubbly slime, but unlike salt, it doesn’t kill them and they just go where you don’t really want them to the following day. Rather frustrating.

smells nice, easy to use, but hasn't solved my slug/snail problem yet
This smells lovely and is very easy to use. You don't get much bottle for your buck. However, I sprayed it liberally on my dahlias and it turned them all brown, as I think the spray itself contains coffee as one of the ingredients. So be warned if you want to protect light coloured flowering plants. I have yet to see any evidence that my garden pests are still not getting a free meal every night either. Perhaps this would work better indoors as I see from other comments that it has stopped slugs on carpets etc... Not sure I would want to use it on a light-coloured carpet though?!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This is the worst possible thing to use in your garden!
I am absolutely devastated. My garden was lush and about to 'pop' with summer flowers. I used this product on my plants as it said it was for use on plants. This is a lie. The next evening I saw my plants leaves were all turning brown and almost rusty looking, curling up and dying. I'm so upset as I even thought at the time to double check it was definitely ok to use on plants, and there is nothing on the label to indicate not to spray on plants. So I sprayed it everywhere. So yeah, lesson learnt, always read the reviews!!!! I'm absolutely kicking myself.

Great repellent
From the moment I used this repellent, the numerous slugs and snails ceased to appear. Highly recommend this product.

This seems to work!
Only used it a couple of times, but it seems to work. I sprayed it in front of a marauding slug, which visibly recoiled and did a u-turn to avoid it. It does have a strong smell when you first apply it, but it fades overnight, and it isn’t unpleasant - vaguely medicinal and clovey (reminiscent of the dentist). Not sure yet how long it remains effective - a few days from one spraying, so far - but it’s the best option I’ve tried so far.
