Great bang for your buck, ok durability/protection
I want to first premise that these are definitely a solid bang for your buck. With that being said you definitely get what you pay for. I would recommend these to someone who does light sparring if any sparring at all. If you’re training multiple times throwing/checking hard kicks, these will not properly protect your shins. After a few months of using these, doing Muay Thai 2-3 times a week, I’m upgrading to the Venum Predators as my shins easily bruise up with these. I bought these for $18 and at that value, are a steal. I would say these are a great starter set and stepping stone but if you have sensitive shins, these probably aren’t for you.

Great by Mistake
I must say I was dual-shocked. I bought these online not realizing the outside material was cloth. I wanted leather on the outside. At first I was disappointed. But I bought these because of the reviews and ratings here on Amazon so I decided to stick it out and try them. I was not disappointed. They worked great! They are my first pair of shin guards so I can't tell you how good they are compared to others. But I can tell you one thing for sure...they don't move. I practice full MMA, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai. My sparring partners would have to stop occasionally to readjust their guards. Even the "higher quality" ones. Not me though. They stayed put. They fit nice and tight. I've used them only twice, but so far so good. For me personally, being a beginner, I didn't want to spend big bucks on some of the more elite shin guards. Theses are great so far for the price. And when I decide to buy another, more expensive, pair I will have a great reference point for comparison. I would definitely recommend these to a beginner on a budget.

A solid option for 99% of people.
I'm about 6'2, 210 lbs, with pretty big calfs, and these fit pretty well; they're kinda tight but it makes me pretty bada$% so I don't mind.I use these for bag work and have just begun to spar, and I think these work well for both. I almost bought the big, thick ones, but they would look kinda ridiculous unless I was going to be a professional MMA fighter. These are pretty common amongst most kickboxing gymgoers -- you will probably see other people with these same ones on.Your shins will probably hurt if you are kicking a bag hard and have bad technique, but that's normal to me. I think these work great for sparring, because most people aren't trying to kick your leg off when practicing. I don't notice any loss of mobility with these.

So glad we purchased this for our son
Sturdy, good looking functional perfect for all sports, especially mixed martial artsStrength is doesn’t slip off the calf leg or the footConsequent leak can be a little tricky or difficult to get off once you’re done but it’s so worth it. I’m glad we got it. Would buy again if we need to.

Very soft but oddly shaped.
These shin guards are very soft and provide a good cushion if you're a beginner that's not doing too much sparring. If you are sparring more often or sparring harder, I would not recommend these: your shins will feel it. Instead, I would suggest these for children or for very casual training. The biggest drawback I found with these is the shape of the padding. It is too squared, too wide and it looks very awkward on your legs. I felt like a transformer the one time I ever wore them. I ended up donating them to my gym.
