To be honest i have no idea if these things work or not, but since undergoing PTCA in March 2013, i started taking some forms of Co-Q10 from different brands until this brand of Ubiquinol around June 2013 with other heart supplements since i could not tolerate any types of Statin including Red Yeast Rice without debilitating muscle pain. I was doing fine but started experiencing chest pain again on exertion 6 months after my procedure which got worst from November 2014 - February 2015 with severe chest pain and had to depend on Nitro practically daily in order to be able to walk to the public transportation system in NYC for work. Had a nuclear stress test that was negative in April 2014. But since February 2015, i stopped taking all other heart supplements like D-Ribose, Niacin, L-Carnitine, Omega 3 others, but remained only on Ubiquinol and slowly, i saw that i didn't need to use the Nitro anymore and my excercise tolerance increased to the point of being able to once again use my Treadmill. I don't know what it was, but i'm glad i didn't drop dead in the subway in NYC one morning and i think this Ubiquinol helped me get to where i am on top of being stubborn about not giving up on excercise tolerance. Doctors were telling me to take it easy, essentially remaining immobile, could not take a walk slowly even a block without severe chest pain and if i had given up and stayed glued to my couch poping Nitro daily, i don't think my heart muscles could have gotten used to working again, and for some reason, my gut instinct was telling me to dump the other supplements but not this one. I don't know why but i always go with my gut instinct and i slowly but surely saw the improvement. I'm not saying that the other supplements do not work, simply that maybe they were not needed by my system and that i may have over done it too.

The company did resolve my issue with the original product that was shipped. Double check that it's not a 3rd party before purchasing as they will not honor any warranty issues.

I buy Jarrow regularly because I am on a statin and this exact brand/product was recommended by my cardiologist along with this https://amzn.to/4boKciz because they are the only products on the market with extensive proven medical trials.

I take these to prevent heart palpitations. I hate having heart palpitations, and have worked very hard to keep them at bay since I started getting them 4 years ago. I only purchased this particular 100mg Jarrow CoQ10 formulation because Amazon ran out of the more expensive 200mg Jarrow CoQ10 I was using: https://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formulas-QH-Absorb-Absorption-Stability/dp/B004VCOOWS/ref=sxts_sxwds-bia (200mg green bottle, not 100mg yellow, there IS a HUGE difference, IMO) This formula, while it costs less than the one I prefer, does not prevent all my heart palpitations. They're not constant like they were before I discovered CoQ10 prevents palpitations, but with this weaker formula, I can feel them happening (very slightly) most days, usually at night. I guess bc it is cheaper, I could take 2 a day, but I have this on 60-day autoship. I can't wait until I can get back to the Jarrow Formulas QH-Absorb, High Absorption/Enhanced Stability 200mg (green bottle) I prefer.

I have chosen Jarrow for years for their product quality/prices. I chose soft gels as they are easy to swallow and are absorbed quickly. I chose the ubiquinol form of Co-Q10 over the standard form (ubiquinone) for reasons explained by Jarrow including that the standard form is "less efficient in some individuals, based on age or genetics." and that "Ubiquinol also has superior bioavailability to ubiquinone, as demonstrated in clinical trials". Edit Nov 2012: I just saw Dr. Weil (on Dr. Oz Season 4 Episode 49) say he prefers gel form because it absorbs better and he also said they should be taken with a meal that contains fat as it is fat soluble and it therefore needs fat to be absorbed.
