Good info, bad arrangement
Great information, it is broken by regions. Each region is then broken down alphabetically by state for each region. I think it would be better if it was just alphabetical by state without the regional categorization. The regions just make it confusing. For instance, Oklahoma and South Carolina are both listed in the south region, and geographically, they are both southern states. However, most people do not see Oklahoma and SC as regionally connected. Likewise, most would research alphabetically. Don’t base your devotion strictly on my comments about the books layout, this is a fantastic book either way great information in it. I just wish it was arranged differently.

A great resource!
If you love to camp, you just get it. The Puglisis are the perfect ambassadors to represent everything camping. Whether you’re a newbie or seasoned camper, they have valuable advice and insight to offer you. And while they have a wealth of knowledge to share, they do so humbly. They acknowledge that your favorite campground might not be in this book. And that’s ok! No matter who you are, where you come from, or where you camp, all are welcome at The RV Atlas table. What I love about this book: *A comprehensive introduction to campsite types, prices, booking procedures, and review sources that will help you book any campsite, not just the ones in this book. *The layout. You can easily look for campgrounds by region, state, or using the “campground personality” badge system. It’s very organized and easy to find what you’re looking for. *Each state is represented, and local attractions are included in addition to campgrounds. I’ll be referring to this book for years to come I am sure, and have already ordered more for gifts.

Compendium of Yogi Bear, KOA Campgrounds, and Playgrounds
This book would be most useful for families with young children. For example: 18 distinct Yogi Bear Campgrounds are listed in this guide with some states boasting more than one. (Who knew?) Many KOA campgrounds are also listed. (I hope the authors received renumeration for KOA product placement.) When listing the reasons for campgrounds being selected as exceptional, playgrounds and swimming pools were often mentioned. Organization of information in this guide is by region (although as a retired educator, this was the first time I have seen Oklahoma listed in the Southern Region). Within each region, states are listed alphabetically. Each state generally lists several “Best in State” and then several “Also Great”. Example: Three campsites are listed in NC’s “Best in State”including: Mama Gertie’s Hideaway Campground (20 minutes from Asheville), Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park at Daddy Joe’s (driving distance to NC /SC beaches), and Cape Hatteras/Outer Banks KOA Resort. Three are listed as “Also Great”: Smokemont Campground in Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Cherokee/Great Smokies KOA Holiday, and Davidson River Campground. So in one of the east coast’s greatest camping states, 2 of 6 listed sites are KOA camps and Great Smoky National Park is an “Also Great” listing behind Yogi Bear. Finally, useful information that is left to the reader to google includes: address, phone number, pricing, toilet/shower/water, and hook-ups.
